LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The ball moved really well last night. Lots of crisp passes in succession. LeBron set the tone on that.

Hearing Windy talk about the confidence in the eyes of the team last night even after Kyrie's injury makes me think about what effect just having LeBron on your team does to your performance.

There's the phenomenon in sports and beyond of seeing someone do something first, knowing it's possible, and then being able to do it yourself, even if it seemed impossible beforehand. In rock climbing, people can stare at a route for years, but as soon as someone climbs it, even if all the moves were already known, suddenly all kinds of other people can follow. Basically knowing it's possible makes it possible.

Having LeBron on your team has to be a weird hybrid of watching someone else do something, and doing it yourself. You know he can do it, he's already shown that, you're part of his team now, so that means you can do it. With all these crazy swings of this series, having something that solid on your side, to always keep you believing it's possible, is something the bulls didn't have. And really no remaining opponents will have.

Basically having LeBron on the team means a level of confidence through adversity for everyone on the team that no other team still in the playoffs can match. That's an advantage that's hard to quantify.

The only man that can stop Lebron James the power forward is Lebron James the small forward. Lebron as PF destroyed Butler all series long. Lebron is so much better as PF than a SF.

In they're prime, MJ had the killer instinct. Lebron is stronger and can post MJ up. And would knock MJ on his ass if he tried his high flying shit. Speed wise, advantage MJ, Strength advantage LBJ.
Overall I give a slight advantage to MJ. Why?: Once MJ smelled blood, it was fuckin over. He would bury you and do so in a fashion that would break your will.
Understand I grew up on Price, Daugherty and Nance..........games called on the radio by the immortal Joe Tait. I fuckin hated MJ. But I respected his greatness. Lebron is awesome, and one of the all time greats. But 1-VS-1 -----MJ Wins 7 outa 10.

Current or prime MJ?

Lol, trying to say who would win in a 1v1 vrs these two in their prime is just silly. Simple truth is no one can predict such a thing and it could go either way.

Michael Jordan has killer instinct, but LeBron has a pretty large physical advantage. He also passes better than Jordan and almost anyone else really. And such a thing isn't shown off in a 1v1 context which is why I have little interest in such a thing.

I will say this though, people say Jordan has killer instinct, but does that mean you think LeBron doesn't then? What was that I saw in Boston 2012 when his entire career and reputation were in question? LeBron is statistically equal to Jordan in the clutch right now and also has killer instinct. If anything can be said it would maybe be that Jordan can summon that instinct more regularly than LeBron, but it is in him.

For me at this point its about achievements. If LeBron decisively leads teams to 5 championships, I will say he is either equal to or has surpassed Jordan. Because I feel like in a team game LeBron is actually a little better. But that simply can't make up for the 4 extra championships MJ has.

The myth of mj is outrageous. Lebron would kill mj one on one. Lebron would post him up and destroy him. Massive weight advance.

Imagine if we replaced Jordans d league replacement on the 94 Bulls that won 55 games without mj with lebron. Heck even with dexler would be a guaranteed championship. Phil Jackson said it himself the triangle adds like 15 wins to a normal team. Genius coach and underrated pippen. Heck even Horace grant was a really good center. The only team to win without a legit rim protector is the Miami heat with lebron.

Jordan also always had a massive massive ref advantage unlike other stars like lebron that have had the refs against them in multiple series like the 2013 and 2014 finals. Heck even Jordans famous buzzer beater against the jazz was a push off offensive foul and the refs ignored it. Jordan was so beloved that even the media blatantly ignores the fact that it was a offensive foul when they show it each year to honor the mythology of Jordan.

Who would win a fly-fishing contest, LeBron or Jordan? Discuss.

I can actually picture "Old Man" Lebron and "Old Man" Jordan playing a game of checkers in the park for all the marbles. :chuckle:

I wonder if that "Sam Smith said Jordan respected authority" question was from @Chris Parker

LeBron didnt like that :chuckle:

No he did not. I took the grenade but I thought i asked it as directly and appropriately as I could. I asked him about LJFF before that too, so he got a softball before I threw the high inside heat.

Jordan would mop the floor with LeBron 1v1.. Stop it.
