Length Reduction : A Slimmer Game is a Better Game?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I hate that, honestly. It completely changes end of game strategy. Plus how long does it take to shoot another free throw...like 10 seconds? It wouldn't shorten the game enough to make a significant difference.
That will dwindle down the time if that is the overall outcome the league wants. In Between EVERY free throw attempt, the guy at the line HAS to get props from every other player plus guys with their rituals. It will save 5-10 minutes a game, no doubt.

5-10 minutes is an exaggeration. At the most it'll save maybe a minute...2 minutes tops. I don't think that's something that needs to be changed.

I agree with everyone else, they need to eliminate some of the timeouts and maybe some of the TV timeouts as well.
They will have just as many TV timeouts if not more.

The NBA is the most active pro sport on national TV. Someone scores every 15 seconds on the average. I dont think you screw around with that. I do think the post season is too long, and I think they should work on that.

I miss the MTV rock n' jock. I found one on VHS a while ago going through tapes.

No idea why it hasn't been brought back yet. It was brilliant.

The postseason is easily the best part of the NBA and it makes them a ton of money...they don't want to make that shorter. There have been several great 1st round seven game playoff matchups the last couple years...they don't wanna touch that.

The tournament for Lottery teams would give the playoff teams a good rest, and give lottery teams something more to play for as has been mentioned before. If you gave some extra games to those not going to the playoffs and gave another week like allstar break to the playoff teams(who are obviously represented by their best players at allstar weekend and are not getting the break the scrubs are) I think you could get everyone a little healthier for the playoffs.

Shortening the regular season is a good idea. As a hard core fan, I would not be happy about it, but most casual fans don't start watching until after football season anyway.
