He'll be invited to the Cavs training camp next year if he's not signed elsewhere. Manny Harris, Harangody, Jamison, Parker and Erden will all likely be shown the door. Samuels could go either way on his return back to the Cavs depending on what they do in the draft.
We got a TON of dead weight on our team. There will be a roster spot or two likely open for a guy like Lester to try to earn in training camp.
I doubt this is the last we've heard of him.

That was my exact first thought. Why keep Harangody and Manny around than Hudson? Least Hudson scored a bit.

I really have no clue why Manny is still here. His style of play isn't conductive at all to winning basketball. Tired of watching him play like this is a YMCA game. Pass the fucking ball you clown. Harangody sucks, but at least I can respect the fact he will bust his ass and try to make the right pass. Manny dribbles too much and takes awful shots.

I see your point, but I really don't think it gets much better than Lester. Guys like Gee and Steimsma are pretty the best you are going to get from D-league players.

Four draft picks next year. WTF is an old guy with little experience really going to do for the Cavs. People piss and moan about Varejao and his age, and Hudson is just 2 years younger. Come on now.
No, I don't see them keeping all 4 picks, but still, I think more can come from those guys than what Cleveland is going to do with Hudson.

That sums it up, I think. We very well may have offered him a contract for the rest of the year, but didn't want to give him any more money or a longer contract. He either thinks he can get a better deal or has already gotten on.

The Plain Dealer reported that Hudson, assuming he signs with another team, would not be eligible to play in the NBA playoffs. What's the reason for that? I thought waived players could not sign on with new teams and play in the playoffs, but what's the condition that prevents Hudson from playing in the playoffs? He wasn't waived.
Edit: NVM, looks like Hudson is eligible for the playoffs and the PD was wrong... Sigh.

Guard Lester Hudson, whose second 10-day contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers expired on Wednesday, is expected to sign with the Griz for the rest of the season.
A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed that Hudson has a verbal agreement to return to his hometown of Memphis. (He's also played with them before.)
Hudson, 27, will be eligible for the postseason because he had not been waived. He’ll be added as insurance in the backcourt as veteran sharpshooter Gilbert Arenas recovers from an injury on his shooting hand.

The guy was born and raised in Memphis, and played college basketball at Tennessee-Martin. I don't blame him. Who knows how long he'll stick in the league, but if his two week trial in Cleveland earns him some stability and a contract with his hometown team... gotta be happy for him.
