Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's kind of remarkable that the margin of defeat for our last 4 home losses have been 29, 23, 16, 19. That's some 2010/2011 type numbers right there.

You are missing the forest for the trees...all of your angst is wildly misdirected.

Look, Dan Gilbert has been the de facto GM for the last few seasons. If CG had his way we would have had Jonas instead of TT, Gasol instead of Bynum, no Jarret Jack, no Luol Deng, the Bennett pick would've been traded...I could go on. And it wasn't just the bad decisions that were forced on mgmt that were so painful. It was then having to waste VERY valuable assets to undo Gilbert's mistakes that was the double whammy.

If Dan really wants to clean house, then he should do what all successful organizations do - let the basketball people make the basketball decisions!! Meddling owners have gotten us where we are today. Dan is an outstanding owner when it comes to some things, when it comes to player personnel decisions, Dan, Tan and Bald are just awful and should keep their hands off.

wow…if this is true, then i have no hope for the future of this team, even with Lebron. if all of those terrible decisions were truly forced by Dan Gilbert, then there really is no hope until we get a different owner. you can't build a successful roster with a meddling owner forcing bad roster moves. ugh. with that idiot owner running things, i might as well not even bother watching games and getting my hopes up.

i'm willing to bet forcing Varejao into such a big role on this team was Gilbert's call as well. we all know Gilbert loves Andy and severely overrates his value. Andy should've never been considered anything more than a backup PF, but of course the cavs handed him the starting center spot rather than looking for a true legit center. reeks of a Gilbert call.

Well, on the plus side, premium seats are getting to be dirt cheap.

On the downside, you have to watch the games.

Back on the plus side, at least beer and wine were included with the tickets.

re-watched the cavs-mavs game.. offensively, we have some good sets.. i see good ball movement side to side and player movement.. kyrie picked his spots he just missed most of his attempts.. kevin love was featured more in this offense.. we have tons of open shots we're just not making them.. it can be attributed to lack of chemistry, consistency of playing the offense and familiarity with one another's tendencies.. the offense is not a problem.. give this team another 20 games running this system consistently and not reverting to kyiso/leiso it will be magical.. would love to see lbj run back door with love on the high post instead of delly/miller.. kyrie screening love with lbj on the wings.. kyrie curling for a freethrow line jumper from a multiple cross screen from love and lbj.. weave action then horns on the next possession.. these are common sets of blatt we just dont have the personnel right now to execute it properly.. tons of horns set, backdoors, handoffs, and love post ups.. it's getting there, just have to be patient and let this team be comfortable on the open spots they have on offense.. and we need a healthy/engaged lbj..

defensively, the cavs are a mess.. ive seen tons of lob passes to chandler where the last line of defense is kyrie, miller, or delly.. no rim protection.. the overplay on the pick n roll is killing the weakside help which are the guards.. when the cavs switch the pick n roll mismatches happen.. seeing kyrie defend dirk is not a recipe of a good defensive system.. there is no defensive system in place.. guys switch when they just feel like it or high hedge when the hedger has the energy to do so without being aware of the personnel being defended.. switching on dirk, allowing dribble penetration by rondo and ellis without help defense..

im frustrated with the way the cavs are playing, but you can see they want to run the offense properly.. theyre headless chickens on defense though.. these are optimistic signs.. if the cavs dont a defensive guard and center, i hope the play faster.. create more scoring opportunities.. this year might not be the championship year but give the team time to gel and create chemistry.. next year will be the year.. lets be patient cavs fans..

Considering they're $150 face, yep.

Starting to think there's quite a few amateur ticket brokers starting to contemplate suicide......

I remember scoffing at the idea that ticket prices would be rediculous. This is Cleveland. The cost of living is too low for ticket prices to get that high. On top of that this is a Browns town. LeBron comes 2nd. So with that, I was able to get Cavs-Spurs tickets for $20 a piece. No kidding. Thats with Flash Seats fees. Especially when its a couple hours before game time, youre not gonna sell tickets to Cleveland citizens for LA Laker prices.

So I laugh at any ticket brokers who were expecting to make big money, I remember the first LeBron era, tickets were not that expensive at least not until the playoffs.

Its so Cleveland that our last 3 top draft picks(Irving, Waiters,TT) have all shown little to no improvements since their rookie seasons.

118 VIP seats (with free food and booze), $32 plus FlashSeats fees for yesterday's game.

Lucky bastards. I paid $300 each in advance for first row (just behind courtside) seats for the Jan 30 game against the Kings. Where there's still time, there's still hope, though.

Why is it that so many young, promising players suddenly start playing better and developing faster the moment they leave Cleveland?

Did this loss to the lowly Sixers really take a backseat to the trade? I admire the positives viewed and cherished more than the negative, at least tonight but I want some rants....

They lost to the Sixers tonight, the Sixers. Even if without 6 guys, it's the freaking Sixers. They haven't won at home since last season.

Blah.

Blah.

We gave the corpses of Delly, Harris, Jones, Miller and Price significant minutes tonight.
This loss doesn't surprise me at all.
