Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Can the Cavs waive Josh Smith?

No but but we added a J. Smith who likes to shoot a lot. The Cavs should pretend waive him or say they did and not really do it. That way we get our own win streak.

I can't think of a more frustrating team to cheer for
This team has all the makings of the 12-13 Lakers, right down to the injury excuses, calls for patience because they've never played together, and a big man who looks increasingly unhappy while playing out the final year of his contract.

Damn, I hadn't made that connection, but when you lay it out like that, it's more than a little scary.

I understand why people want to preach patience and downplay the importance of the regular season, but these games are flying by and the time for the team to start becoming more cohesive is slipping away quickly, not to mention we're basically back to square one with the trades this week.

April is going to be here before we know it, and I'm sorry, I don't care how much talent you have, it doesn't magically jell when the regular season ends. The 2009-10 Cavs tried going into the playoffs with a starting five that hadn't played a single game together. They were eviscerated in the second round by Boston.

These games matter.

I live in southern California and this is nothing like that situation. The 2012-2013 Lakers was a far different dynamic than ours.

From the get go, as:
1. Dwight did not want to be traded to the Lakers at any point
2. Dwight did not like being challenged and bullied by Kobe
3. That team was far older and less deep than ours is going forward.

If it pleases you to believe that Love and/or LeBron are going to walk after this year, have at it for the next 3-4 months.

I'll take it a step further. If Love walks after this year as a FA with us getting nothing in return for him, I will hang it up and permaban myself. Nothing asked in return.

Finally someone with some real stones around here.

Not to mention Nash falling off the face of the earth.

Plus, their core (Kobe, Nash, World Peace, Gasol) was very old.

Hopefully we can salvage 2-3 on this road-trip.

For some odd reason I think they will win against GS. I mean I think J.R Smith is going to have a game. I liked what i saw out of Smith tonight on both O and D and once he gets used to it here. I hate to say it but could be the X-factor for us. He could be our Rasheed type player who brought the swag this team needs. Man wait what thread am I even in anymore? Sorry if I went off topic but man this team is more interesting than ever before.

@MirORich, you are mistaking a rant thread for a debate thread...

Here's my mild rant. I would like the Cavs to overachieve for a night and win a game. We have seen a lot of underachieving this year, and it's on the players and coaches. It's not just injuries. I'm not saying they should have won tonight. Thought they would get clobbered, honestly. But I'd like to see them surprise us in a good way. It's been awhile...
I totally agree with this mild rant - Cavs yet to win a game that on paper they shouldn't, a game that they were marked as the underdog. But losing a game they should've win - they lost a bunch!
But this stats can be changed in the wild west tour... finger crossed

I've been extremely disappointed with David blatt.

There's my rant.

Blatt...do me a favor and stop playing Delly in crunch time. I'll take Smith, Harris, Miller...fuck, i'll even take Marion over him...just no more Delly, please and thank you.

Yeah delly's been like a homeless man's rondo so far on offense

I really don't know what Blatt is doing out there. I rarely see plays being drawn up. It's like he says "do what you gotta do" to the primary ball handler. And his rotations seem very biased. He'd rather play and run 7 guys into the ground than use all the weapons at his disposal. This IS a talented team. It has been since the start of the season. Sure, we've been undersized, but that's no reason we should have lost so many of the games we lost. This Cavs team should be obvious to coach. The timeouts he should be taking are obvious.

Honestly, we need a veteran NBA head coach. Not a veteran Euro League coach. We don't have the time for projects. I like Blatt, I think we should just reduce his role to something else and train him under someone else, then promote him again in a couple of years. If he's willing to be part of that. Better than firing and paying him all the money he's owed anyway.
