If we can find a trade for Jack all 3 will be history. Deng is not worth 11 mill going forward, he plays like a 34 year old already.
 
People don't really think we should keep Varejao over Deng do they.....?

Who is going to play SF for us then?

AB barely gets enough run without Andy... you think it's going to get better with him!?!?

Varejao can't stay healthy! It's a fact! He's not worth anywhere near fucking 1/6 of our cap! HE WILL ALMOST MAKE AS MUCH AS TT, TZ AND AB COMBINED.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW THIS IS A DEBATE.

I can't believe that people just watched us give up 110 points to Memphis, their highest total in nearly 2 months, and still think we should get rid of Varejao.

Really? You know how he does the thing where he stops the other team from scoring? The thing called DEFENSE?

1. varejao isn't exactly a defensive anchor anymore; maybe mem scores 106 or 107. okay.

2. cutting/trading varejao does not preclude them from getting another defensive player

also memphis missed both conley and gasol for 6+ games a piece in those 2 months.

It's not either/or. It's both that need to go.

Andy, while I love everything he has done for us, clearly can't stay healthy, and Deng is a (barely) walking corpse who is going to break down over the course of his next contract.

I know we have no other options at small forward, but that doesn't mean we should pay someone a ton of money for a limited return.

My point stands...how many games are you going to win against a defensive powerhouse like Memphis when you give up fucking 110 points? I love Hawes on offense, but he gets devoured on defense and Tristan isn't much better. If Andy plays this game we likely hold them under 100.

The problem is when people talk about cutting/trading Andy, they're (generally) talking about making Hawes our long-term starting center. That's not a winning strategy. We're never going to get anywhere in the playoffs with a defensive sieve like Hawes at center.

I really think that playing both Hawes and Varejao at once will make us a good team. Varejao rolls to the hoop unlike any other, and Hawes pulls their center out of the paint. Thompson is fucking this all up IMO, even though he's getting stats, he just looks like ass, his game has completely deteriorated to garbage man. Idk what it is, but he looked way better last season. His rebounding is fantastic, but outside of that, it's the same old shit with him.
 
If Hawes doesn't play there's no floor space and reining defensive player of the year Marc gasol is allowed to set up camp in the paint. The cavs don't score 90 points against that team with out a spread floor.

Where varejao would of made in impact is his length guarding Randolph and Randolph would of had to account for him on pick and rolls. Varejao would of been a better match up than Thompson.
 
Varejao can't stay healthy. For that alone he's not worth almost $10 million. GTFO Andy.

Listen if he was 25 or under like TT, AB, TZ or Hawes-some, sure keep him around..... but he's not.

He's not worth the contract and we have younger guys that can perform and need the experience. AB IS NOT GETTING DOUBLE DIGIT MINUTES EVEN WITH ANDY OUT.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT WE ARE ARGUING ABOUT.
 
With reduced minutes I'm hoping Varejao can stay healthy. Brown ran him 43 minutes, and Varejao has been broke since. I look for Varejao to start with Hawes. Hawes was not brought in to replace Varejao. Hawes was broght in to replace Thompson. Hawes was brought in to play WITH Varejao.
