Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
With reduced minutes I'm hoping Varejao can stay healthy. Brown ran him 43 minutes, and Varejao has been broke since. I look for Varejao to start with Hawes. Hawes was not brought in to replace Varejao. Hawes was broght in to replace Thompson. Hawes was brought in to play WITH Varejao.

Thompson is the replacement for Varejao. Hopefully, Thompson can develop his jump shot in the next year or two unlike the 8 years it took Varejao, but in the end they are both just high-level energy bigs and there is really only need for one of those.

My point stands...how many games are you going to win against a defensive powerhouse like Memphis when you give up fucking 110 points? I love Hawes on offense, but he gets devoured on defense and Tristan isn't much better. If Andy plays this game we likely hold them under 100.

The problem is when people talk about cutting/trading Andy, they're (generally) talking about making Hawes our long-term starting center. That's not a winning strategy. We're never going to get anywhere in the playoffs with a defensive sieve like Hawes at center.
lol come on, varejao is not roy hibbert and this is not indiana's system. yes it would be better defensively, but varejao is not the difference in 10+ points.

i do agree that hawes cannot be the long-term starting center - whether or not he'll even be on the team as backup depends on $$ - and i badly want them to target a rim protector to help anchor the front court. that can be via trade or the draft, whichever one has the better option. but it's still a need.

by keeping varejao, they are putting a bandaid over it. first, he is completely unreliable and when healthy, still not able to turn them into a top flight defense. more importantly, he has a limited window whereas this team is aiming for a much larger window. what happens when varejao is either forced to retire due to injuries, or the endless stream of injuries just don't make him effective enough in significant minutes? that's not that far off. then they're back at square 1 with no high draft pick and no cap space to address the defensive hole.

getting a fairly young, defensive anchor up front has to be one of their main priorities this off-season. personally i'd like to see them commit to bennett at pf to be paired with said rim protector, and probably moving thompson in the process. it's time they move on from just "young players" to an actual starting quality, well-rounded frontcourt.

Last night's game pissed me off, but we have been getting better with a few steps back here and there. This is what we were expecting with a young team, I had just hoped they would have started getting better sooner.

I'm afraid last night's loss was my fault. 4/4 teams I support lost. Arsenal, the Cavs, the Maple Leafs and the Indian cricket team. Hopefully next week will bring better luck.

Lol, I started following the Indian cricket team right before the New Zealand tour. Couldn't have chosen a worse time :chuckles:

Took a long time for the team to finally play like they should. That might cost us, but on the bright side, there's still assets. I don't see a treadmill of mediocrity as long as we have the money and players and coaching. I'm not one to lose hope, so I might be optimistic, but that's just fine.

Looks like the Magic series all over again, but wait... we have a defensive mastermind on our side.

Deng  Do not want him long term.

Chicago got the last laugh

well it shows we still need more work to do before we can win, Im just glad today is not the retirement party.

I hope we keep going for the play offs. If we don't make it, it's still a good lesson for this team. This offseason means a lot to the future of our core

our team has talent...its fucking coaching...u cant get away with just running high pick and rolls all game

It is nothing but coaching. Just look at the Suns and the Bulls, I can blatantly say that we have major talent over those teams but they are playing to their full capacity. This team's potential is being tied down because of MB's incompetent coaching.

There is just absolutely no way we're going to be getting the cream of the crop talent in this draft class. There's just too many shitty teams to overcome.

The tank never came out, and even if we lost every remaining game, we still wouldn't catch those teams in loss rate. They won't win enough games to even the standings, and we won't lose enough to get to their level of shittiness.

We are fucking stuck, GOD is this annoying. So Cleveland to miss out on Anthony Davis to a fucking coin flip, then the team re-names themselves to "the Pelicans" after they debated naming the team "the mosquitos". You cannot make this shit up. I'd chop off my left nut in this paper-slicer if we could have gotten our hands on the brow.

We end up getting so excited about winning the lottery, only there's nobody worthy of even drafting there.

Just- Un-Fucking Believable.

We end up getting some good acquisitions in Hawes and Deng, only the coach being so incompetent renders those guys really un-effective in the grand scheme of things.

Will Cleveland ever catch a break? Fuck I'm moving to Hawaii with Gourimoko, that sounds nice. I'd still be a Cleveland sports fan, but I could avoid dodging gaping pot-holes every single morning. 450 dollars in new tires, and you want to take my money with these traffic cameras? Fuck this city, love it and hate it, it's a really weird relationship, but my patience for this shit is wearing thin.

I cannot sit back and watch us routinely fuck up, it's becoming a law of nature that whatever wrong could happen, will end up happening to us.
