Let it all out. The Cavaliers Rant Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The cavs are 0-5 I repeat 0-5 against Charlotte. This was not a winnable game. On to the next one.

Cavs defense is a bad joke.

They consistently get burned by going under screens while the screeners' man vanishes into no mans' land.

As an opposing player moves toward the paint, a Cavs big rotates for the double team , leaving their man wide open for either a pass or easy rebound.

This far into the season and opposing guards still blow by whoever the Cavs have out there with stunning ease.

I should also mention that it is clear that there isn't enough cohesion/trust among the CAvs on the court to consistently execute plays on either end of the court. The constant shuffling of personnel combinations/rotations simply leads to turnovers and lots of one on one play when the pressure ramps up.

Cavs dipped their toes in the playoff waters and ran the other way.

Finally, does this team have any fight in them? The Cavs played last night like fat cats instead of hungry alley cats. Wanting to win and playing with the pants on fire attitude it takes to get there are vastly different things.

As teams have ramped up their efforts pushing toward the playoffs, the Cavs are being exposed as inadequate, even in the sorry Eastern Conference.

Cavs are headed to one of the biggest off seasons in franchise history. Being an NBA doormat has gotten very old.

Will Cleveland ever catch a break? Fuck I'm moving to Hawaii with Gourimoko, that sounds nice. I'd still be a Cleveland sports fan, but I could avoid dodging gaping pot-holes every single morning. 450 dollars in new tires, and you want to take my money with these traffic cameras? Fuck this city, love it and hate it, it's a really weird relationship, but my patience for this shit is wearing thin.

I cannot sit back and watch us routinely fuck up, it's becoming a law of nature that whatever wrong could happen, will end up happening to us.

Love the intra-rant infrastructure dig Frank. :)

This is the least I've liked the team since the rebuild started. There is nothing to like about this team, other than we have 1 all star. Every other pick has been a waste. They all fucking suck. Id trade all our shitty core other than kyrie for whatever draft picks I could get, fire the coach, and start over. Throw big money at the best NBA guy I could get and let's roll.

Fuck this team. We need new colors/jerseys too. The current ones have the stench of losing entrenched in them.

Dan Gilbert is starting to look like Drew Carey. What the fuck is that about?
Burn it to the ground. Start over.

Has a team ever made this many off-season and in-season acquisitions and failed this miserably?

This franchise had the #1 overall and an additional first-rounder, set the relatively modest goal of finishing under the top 8 in a historically weak Eastern Conference, and then went out and acquired Jarrett Jack, Eark Clark, and Andrew Bynum, then flipped Clark and Bynum for Deng and Hawes, and they will STILL miss the playoffs. With 2 #1 overalls, 2 #4 overall, a former all-star at the 3, and solid stretch-5. Talent that is AT LEAST middle-of-the-road.

They failed miserably, and all Mike Brown ever has are excuses.

Eff this team, Dan Gilbert, the franchise. All of it.

Dan Gilbert might want to spend money but he is a bumbling emotional idiot. Screw his letter to Lebron after the Decision. Everything.

To have all the assets they've had over the last few years and still fail to make the playoffs in the East - at the end of the day there is no excuse. We can excuse things one by one - Bennett being out of shape, weak draft, injuries, Mike Brown, learning a new system, a young core...but add all of that stuff together and it all just spells incompetence.

Good thing they dropped the last two games, I don't have to hope out ridiculous hope that they could pull out a .500 stretch over the last 20 games and make the playoffs. 0-2 so far, and the good teams haven't come yet. Beautiful.

I hope that has been said about the Chris Grant connection to Lebron is overblown - Gilbert can't be THAT stupid, right?

Anyway...Don't come back Lebron, you'd be stupid to do so. I'm sure he's far too smart to come back here. His body doesn't have infinite playing time - might as well use it to win championships with competent organizations.

I said it in the tank thread but throw it all fucking under. Trade Dion, Jack, deng, Tristan, keep spencer and Bennett and karasev, keep CJ and trade Andy. Get rid of potato head and draft Gary Harris, try to sign a real VET SF who gives a damn( even if it's Richard Jefferson) and build this team with shooters. Pray to god u can change the culture with a new coach and players and sacrifice a lamb next summer and pray Lebron is dumb enough to return to this dumpster fire. Sign vet players at key positions like center and backup roles, and pray to the gods that it can help. As of now we are severely fucked unless an overhaul occurs

Just when I thought I had seen it all. Bravo.

Now I can see why CG got fired: KI is just a average PG, Waiters needs traded, Deng is just as bad a Gee, TT has no skills on either side of the court, AV should have been traded when we had the chance, He hire two bad coaches, Bennett is fat and can't stay healthy, signed Jack, Clark and Andrew Bynum.

I remember in 2010 people were worried about a treadmill of mediocrity. But starting completely over with asset accumulation would be the treadmill of atrocious.

Though I agree in principle, I would rather scrap the build if it has a low ceiling. I admittedly believe less in the talent on this team than most on this board. I believe this team needs another top tier star and better size and toughness before I would trust this build. I would rather not go all in if the result is nothing more than 5-10 years of Atlanta hawks style basketball.

We will never be a contender if we rebuild every 3 years, give this team and ownership the next two years and see what we have. If we are still a run of the mill team then blow it up, But can't believe DG is going to throw three year of collection 1. a all star pg 2. a developing SG and two young developing PFs in TT and Bennett plus a good back C in Zeller just to start over. DG is a great business man and he has to know that it takes time to build a good team. yes it is time to stop collecting assets and we do have some very good assets to use this summer to build a team that can contend. If this means trading away draft picks so be it. If they decide that Waiters and TT are better coming off the bench I have no problem with that either, but to just start over is a very stupid thing to do. I do not want to see the Cavs become the Browns a different system and FO every year. I'm not a Mike Brown fan but maybe he just needs his ass kicked to build a better staff one that the player can relate to and turn over some power to his assistance coaches, he needs to stop micro managing. But to blow the team up is not the way to build a winner.

We need to be fielding offers for basically every player on this roster. There isn't a single guy here who you can definitively say "Yea, that's a dude you can win titles with." Not saying some of these guys can't become those guys, but its impossible to know that. I'm not advocating for a fire sale, but I'm also not advocating that we declare any player on this roster untouchable and totally off-limits.

And I'd be fine with riding it out another year, but seriously, how can anyone claim that they know this team is headed in the right direction? We've seen very little improvement from Dion and Thompson, and regression from Irving. I'll just leave Bennett out of it.

Like, you can't look at those 4 guys and think to yourself "Yea, we've got something special here."

David Griffin said as much as his first press conference: "As a franchise, it is my philosophy that absolutely no one is untouchable in any area," said Griffin. "Why would you ever do that? It doesn't make any sense to me. That doesn't mean anybody's ever going to go away, either, because untouchable and tradeable are different things. I don't want to get into semantics, but untouchable is a ridiculous word."

At the same time, it remains to be seen whether Griffin will be responsible for making any of the decisions.

No way in hell we trade Kyrie, if that's what you're referring to, unless he declines a contract extension this summer. I can't wait until Kyrie signs a max deal with us to shut people up about trading him. (Not meant for a single poster, just everyone in general)
