Man Executes Two Teen Intruders

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Um, I dunno, didn't it say he shot him and he fell down the stairs, looked up at the home owner who then fired another shot into his face? Sounds like an execution...and obviously the second one isn't even up for discussion. This guy is shooting people and dragging them around on tarps and then executing them while they're on the floor, I mean Jesus, my first thought is the guy is a nutcase. Breaking and entering or not.

Ah you're right, I did miss that he shot the first guy multiple times.

His story cannot be true.

Girl hears her cousin fall down the stairs and at least 2 shots are fired (can't be her cousin, they're not armed). Most likely hears some sort of gasp from her cousin being hit, and probably hears him being dragged away on a tarp.

So she proceeds to walk down these same stairs, and fall down them? And then laughs in the face of a guy who just killed her cousin and tried to shoot her? I'm in that situation I jump out the nearest window in the upstairs and try to escape with my life.

These kids were obviously stupid and probably under the influence of drugs but according to this man's story, the girl basically asked to be killed. I have a very hard time believing that's how it went down.

I thought he shot her while she was walking down the stairs (like he did the first guy). The shotgun wound didn't phase her, though, as she laughed at him afterwards.

Several minutes later, he heard more footsteps and saw Kifer coming down the stairs. He waited until he saw her hips, then fired. She also fell down the stairs, but then his rifle jammed and Kifer laughed.

Of course, the fact that she laughed is based on the testimony of the shooter, the same shooter who took pleasure in blowing her skull open. What's the over/under on him being a delusional psychopath?

This just sounds like a tragic story all around, I hope the police and DA handle it correctly.

I'm thinking these kids had to have been on drugs. That is the only thing that could explain the laughing for me if that happened. Also I think there was a case in texas were a gas station owner shot a kid robbing him and then popped him in the head to kill him a few minutes later. He went to jail I think. This guy will do some time. Him not calling the cops because it's thanksgiving makes me think he needed to come up with a story that better fit the scene .

I don't think any drug could cause a person to laugh there I'm sorry

Well first put yourself in these kids shoes. Why are you breaking into a house? 99% of the time it's to support a drug habit. Also if you're being shot at the normal response is to shit your pants beg for your life. Maybe there was some mental defect, but I would not be surprised if these kids come back as being positive for something like heroin. I'm not saying I'm right, but people have done some fucked up things on drugs.

Its amazing how disproportionate a response this was by someone who is clearly mentally unstable. If kids break into your house, dont execute them improve your home security.

Not sure what the general mentality is in Britain, but in the US many states have moved toward a "castle doctrine" that allows one to legally take action to protect one's abode that would be considered murder in other situations. People aren't generally expected to upgrade home security as much as they are to protect their homes. If someone has ACTUALLY broken into his home multiple times, it's his prerogative to upgrade security OR lie in wait and legally kill the people breaking in.

This guy likely abused his rights.

Yeah, but there's a pretty big difference between killing someone while protecting your home and executing them after they've already been incapacitated.

Yes.

This wasn't their first break-in apparently...

In a statement Wednesday, Nov. 28, Morrison County Sheriff Michel Wetzel said a search of a red Mitsubishi Eclipse seized after Haile Kifer and Nicholas Brady were shot and killed by Byron David Smith, authorities found prescription drugs and other items reported stolen from another Little Falls home.

I'm a firm believer in getting help for kids like that, not executing them. Call me a humanitarian.

Almost feel like b00bie at times?

You even stated the guy likely abused his rights, yet, there someone is to point out the difference of what he did and what you said you're allowed to do.

Nah, he should have just shot them in the chest once each. Then called the cops.
