Re: Manny Harris gains steam down in Canton
It seemed like the Cavs blamed him for Manny's bizarre injury at Nike in the offseason and knowing felt like they could risk leaving him exposed and waiving him. Mychal Thompson did have a handful of really good games in the NBADL prior to joining us , but to put him ahead of Manny seems like a real head scratcher, even though everyone has speculated Thompson got a roster spot due to Scott's relationship to his father.
when parkers back flared up and Boobie had to start, it left the Cavs with essentially one backcourt reserve in Sessions. You can criticize Manny's handles all you want but Eyenga is no backcourt player and Thompson outside of 2-3 pre-season games has not sniffed the floor against NBA talent.
Manny was thrust into major minutes last year and even though inconsistent and struggling at times as a rookie . He held his own defensively and had few nice offensive performances including 4 20 point efforts highlighted by a career high 27 against PHX
compare that to our current starting PG who only had 2 20 point games last year, didn't even average double digit points in the last two months of the year and barely averaged over 10 ppg for the year.
you look at all this and I don't think any of us are overvaluing manny that much but you gotta wonder why he is in Canton and not on our roster
I honestly never really understood why they handled him like they have. I was very impressed with his potential last season, and actually had him rated higher than Eyenga, personally.
