The Suns have been within a handful of games of the playoffs twice in the past two years. By every objective measure, they're an example of a team that has managed the rebuilding process with aplomb, trading for a high-value young star in Eric Bledsoe while stockpiling picks and adding key young players. As long as you just look at the numbers on the board, everything with Phoenix is great.

Under the surface however, there are some concerning signs. Goran Dragic, never known to be a drama queen, demanded a trade last year. On the way out, he bashed the organization. Isaiah Thomas had some words about Phoenix after being dealt to Boston. The team traded Marcus Morris along with a few other players to chase LaMarcus Aldridge after signing Morris and his brother Markieff to long-term extensions, and Morris has openly torched the team. Repeatedly. There's some disagreement about how long-time Sun Channing Frye left town.

And now, there's news that Markieff Morris, arguably the Suns' second-best player behind Bledsoe, wants out.

According to @Gambo987's sources, Markieff wants out. He wants nothing to do with the #Suns. Won't talk to players or staff. #NBA

It's worth noting that both Morris twins are facing aggravated assault charges in Arizona that could bring jail time. Their lawyers recently filed to send the case back to grand jury based on what they are describing as questionable evidence. Meanwhile, neither twin seemed happy about the trade that broke the two up. We should also point out thatMarkieff blasted Suns fans earlier this year for not being loud enough at home, which didn't exactly endear him to the community.

If that has something to do with this, then it's point blank ridiculous. The former Jayhawk twins can't honestly expect to play their entire careers together. That's simply not realistic, and you can't blame the Suns for pursuing LaMarcus Aldridge over keeping those two together so they could be happy.

However, if this is part of a greater trend of players not trusting the front office, or of dysfunction inside the locker room, that's a much bigger issue. The Suns have had a lot of turnover, and if this report is accurate, they could be looking at more. All of it inexhaustibly leads to the question: what exactly is going on in Phoenix?

We can use this guy I'm telling you, nothing like a spacing big man plus his talent off the bench. He'll be even a bigger factor when Andy goes down.

Even when Andy is healthy, there's going to be times when the paint is clogged with Andy and TT out there. Kieff could be a changeup, a wildcard, but most importantly, good depth.

If we wanted him, we would have had him by now. They don't feel he is worth paying that extra tax.

Phoenix has been chasing whatever looks Shiny

They seem like bad characters. And not in a quazi-lovable idiocy sort of way like JR Smith, but legitimately shitty people who are difficult to work with on and off the court. Between this, the felony assault charges, cussing out Hornacek during a game on national TV, problems back at Kansas...it's just a mountain of idiocy and detrimental behavior.

They may mature as other players have as they get older, but I wouldn't take a risk on either of them for this Cavs team at this moment. Plus, JR is already filling our quota of questionable characters.

Rofl. We have nothing to trade. He's actually a good player on a good contract. This is silly.

Seeing as he is a cancer mental case who seems to think he is a better player than the next level up that is Draymond Green, It should not take much but other than a TP..... FUUUUUUUUUUUU-

This board is delusional! Why would they dump him for nothing? They don't need the cap space, if they end up trading him they will get more then we can offer. Also why would we want him? This is not a video game, culture and fit is just as important as talent.

We need more guys like him, tough-minded and physical. Would have helped against Golden State.

We should really push for Morris now (if Gilbert is willing to spend the money) - would not only give us another shooter as a big (and we only have Love at the moment), but would also give us some solid leverage in the TT negotiations. You might end up saving money in the long run by taking on Morris.....

We can package 2018/2020 firsts (by guaranteeing the 2016 first to Boston). Could also send Joe Harris/Pointer.... We would still have to TPEs at around $2.8M left, in case of injury.

Agreed.

This is someone who excelled at coming off the bench in 2013-14 and is obviously best suited for that role. He's got a serviceable jumper, and plays decent defense.

He's also on a favorable $8M/yr contract.

If we can get him, we should certainly try.

In case anyone was worried, i talked to my employer and let them know i am very happy here in Phoenix and have no intention of demanding out.

It just depends on how you feel he'll play without his brother on his team. Right now he seems like a guy incapable of functioning without him, and he's already hard to deal with with him.

If teams get the sense he's willing to play (and play hard) without Marcus on the team, then Phoenix can get more than what we have to offer. If not, then it doesn't make a lot of sense for us to go after him regardless.
