I know yibada is a stupid site -- but just as an idea: S&T Tristan to Toronto at Max, plus a first round pick to Toronto for Derozan, then another first rounder + Trade Exception for Morris to replace Thompson. Even if we are resigning Derozan at the max next year, we're still saving money compared to Tristan at the max this year.
You can also do it as a three way trade, and then you don't even have to use the trade exemption.
Markieff would be an excellent replacement for Tristan. He does everything better than him except rebounding.
If it was the difference between retaining Tristan and paying Tristan the max or getting Keef locked up to a more reasonable contract...I'd go Keef all day.
He can score from all over the court, and while he's a terrible three point shooter, wouldn't need to be out on the perimeter much anyways. He quietly put up an efficient 15ppg last year and made 76% of his FTs. He's also a solid defender.
You lose rebounding and get a player who's two years older, but get better everywhere else.
Wouldn't think twice.
Question is...how would they get him?
If the Morris relationship with the suns keeps getting worse, I wouldn't be surprised if you could get him for our two first round picks (which I think we can do if we take the restriction off the first round pick we're sending out this year), and then take Morris into our cap space.
No team wants a player who is openly trying to get kicked off the team.
One thing you can say about Tristan is that character is not an issue with him. He's a good kid.
Would Morris act the same way on a contender?

Yep..however (aside from attitude..maybe just a change in scenery is needed) that length can come in handy when we play opponents who have another mobile big on their bench..or someone to smack Mr.Smiles(Draymond Green) around a bit when they throw him at center.Where are his minutes coming from? He can not play small ball center near as well as TT. The things he does on offense are all almost exclusively done better by Kevin Love.
Based on everything he's exhibited attitude wise as a pro, you think Morris is oing to buy in and be content at 12-15 minutes per game?
Love the player, don't see the fit. At all.
