Mass Effect 3

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Meh, I hope the launch trailer is better. "The fight for Earth." Really? Earth is all we're fighting for?

I think ME2's launch trailer might be the best one I've ever seen, it got my so stoked for a game I wasn't even excited for in the first place.

THIS LINK HAS HUGE PLOT SPOILERS. IT'S A PASTEBIN LINK THAT HAS THE NOTES FROM THE EARLY BETA LEAK OVER THE WEEKEND.

To expand some more it has plot point, story direction, converstaion transcripts, scene description so in other words it would be simialr to a 2nd copy rough draft story board for the majority of the game (could be complete story for non-imported character from what I can tell after skiimming through it)

If you don't want to spoil the story for yourself do not click the link

Ninja Edit:
Mods, if the link to the info needs removed feel free to take it down as I know some forums are being asked to remove info (neogaf, gamefaqs listed for examples of forums that had to take down similar content. that content included screen shots but the above link is only text so I don't know if it would be viewed the same manner.)

Yeah, this trailer was as good as it gets. It was pretty much a sci-fi/action movie trailer, which really fit the cinematic feel of mass effect. Still easily the best game I've played in years, and I'd rank it as Bioware's 3rd best game of all time (behind KotOR and Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn)

I just hope ME3 lives up to ME2. It put Mass Effect back on the map for myself (I know most people prefer the original) in that I wasn't even excited for ME2 but now my hype is through the roof for the next game.

But yeah, some games I just look back on with crazy nostalgia and go, "Damn, playing through that game was a real pleasure." Very few games get that from me; Metal Gear Solid, the Half Life games, Warcraft 3, a couple other games that slip my mind. Mass Effect 2 was one of them though. That trailer never gets old.

Really? I'd heard the opposite. Everyone I've talked to says ME1 was good, but ME2 was just on a different level entirely. IGN did rate it as the best game of the last 10 years I think

ME1 had a stronger plot story but the combate was clunky, inventory wasn't done well and bases were mostly copy & paste layout for side quests. (This said ME1 is my favorite in the series so far, just feels like a deeper more immersive expereince than 2, not that 2 wasn't good)

ME2 had a story which can be related to Dirty Dozen in space but combat was better 5x better than ME1, sqaud characters were more flushed out from a development standpoint and they removed inventory. (Main story arch was kind of weak, it was more concentrated on loyalty missions to build up squad member backround combined with their involvement on issues like genophage, quarian/geth conflict ect... I would have to say that ME2 has the best opening seqeunce of almost any game ever though)

I'll agree with all of that. The reason I think ME2 was so much better (besides the combat) is that when you're playing it, it's almost bigger than just a video game. The thrill ride you get is almost like an interactive movie... hopefully the 3rd game can improve on the combat while tying together the characterization of ME2 with the plot quality of ME1

I'm not gonna lie, I even enjoyed Mass Effect 2's storyline more. Mainly due to the characters' individual plots, but still

Um, pretty underwhelming. Game is gonna be sick though.

Really? I thought the Thresher Maw-Reaper battle was reallllly sick. I was really impressed.

I mean that is cool. But the gameplay was basically Shep running around dodging lasers. Environment looked pretty weak and unimpressive.

Bioware won't fuck this up though, I know that.

I personally thought the enviornment was amazing. It's just s trailer.

When he was running there were clouds of smoke, when he fell I was pretty amazed too. Then the Maw and Reaper going at it.

I'm really interested in what that tower does, maybe it's a control center for the reapers or something? Either way I can't wait til March 6th so I can stop those damn things. :chuckles:

The combat in ME2 was a lot of fun but what made the game was all the interaction and shit. That's the stuff I can't wait for.
