<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>[/parsehtml]Sorry, it's a foreign tweet...pretty much throughout the Playoffs Delly has shut down everyone he's had to guard is the long and short of it

Rose, Teague and Curry have shot 18 of 64 (something like 28%) and have only scored 42 COMBINED POINTS when Delly was playing D on them.

Hey Napoleon, we're in America. :cha (40):

Now we're starting to see more talks of how Curry only beat himself and how he just didn't hit open shots, especially from Bucher. What's being overlooked is:

1.) Curry may have missed some shots he normally makes, but he makes some crazy shots to begin with. Just because he misses them, doesn't mean they're any less difficult to make.

2.) Delly constantly being in his chest, chasing him around, and being step for step with him the entire time he was in the game only made those shots even more difficult.

3.) While guarding him, Delly made Curry work for almost all of his shots and even made him work while trying to go get the ball. Not sure if Bucher is aware, but fatigue plays a role for a shooter, specifically when you're a PG and you have to work so hard to even get the ball.

4.) Anyone who has played even one game in their life will tell you that a defender that is constantly in your chest, constantly stride for stride with you, and won't leave you alone can be a pest. It takes people out of their game and frustrate the hell out of you.

5.) I don't care how good of a defender you are, you're never going to be perfect guarding an offensive guy (as far as not giving up clean looks goes).

6.) Delly has done this the entire postseason. He's successfuly shut down or slowed down every starting PG he has come across.

I'm glad we ended up sticking with Delly during the search for a new backup PG. He's built for the postseason and for this team.

Outstanding post, @MoFlo !! I said it previously that one of the things I don't like about Curry is that he plays at a very nonchalant pace with a bit of a swagger. He is able to do this most of the time because today's NBA PGs tend to be more offensive oriented than defensive oriented. I surmise that part of Curry's "rhythm" is being able to play in this fashion.

Enter the Delly. Now he has to go against a guy that completely takes him out of that nonchalant pace and makes him work for every little bit of offensive position or advantage. There is no doubt that it is taking its toll on him.

As @View from afar said above, chances are Curry's going to get hot sometime and make some crazy shots. But I will be shocked if that becomes the norm and not the exception to how the rest of this series plays out.

Well here it is in American then

I guess Curry thinks it is best to not recognise how effective the Cavs defense (and in particular Dellys) was at taking him out of his comfort zone. I also get that GSW will try some different offense, but it was the close-chest defense and crowding of Delly that was sending him nuts. Personally I think he should have said he was initially put off by the physical defense of the Cavs but he knows he is the MVP and he will adjust accordingly. If Steph has another really bad game, that could be the series because he has painted himself into a corner.
My guess is at best he shoots a little better, burns Delly a few times but he will still be far from the MVP he was during the season. As long as Delly has not burnt out his motor, he can hopefully keep Curry to around 20 points a game.
In the words of Lloyd Christmas "So you are saying there's a chance ?"

"Dellavedova is a premier defender in this league" - Stephen A Smith

"Dellavedova is a borderline star defender" - Skip Bayless

Must have put something in their breakfast cereal this morning at ESPN.

Maybe the agenda is hoping Steph goes off in gm 3, then talking about his magisterial performance against the greatest defensive PG ever?

those are very cunning comments.. you can later hype Curry up for beating such a great defender as Delly.. OR if Delly shuts him down again look like YOU knew something and where right about Delly

That's just a 4 person coincidence

yeah must be.. because if you havent heard Curry was "just off" and Delly and in general the Cavs defense had NOTHING to do with it.

lol
