Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Good job wuck.

Delly played hard d and took his shots, but most importantly he found jones a number of times for open threes. Teams plan to leave delly to help and he generally made good decisions off the catch. I don't expect him to bring the ball up against pressure, not with two incredibly ball dominant players like Lebron and kyrie

36 minutes from the Australian Assassin in a playoff game and Cavs win by 15. I love you, Delly.

Where are the jokers who called me out on bringing up the possible change of seeing more Delly defending Rose?

It fucking worked.

Delly can use his strength against Rose. That's one of the few above average tools that Delly brings to the table. Over all, guard match-ups against the Bulls seem like better matchups for Delly than Isaiah Thomas, who might have been be a worse case scenario for him. Maybe Wall would be worse.

Very impressed with Delly's toughness. Very tough and strong player and very aggressive. The Bulls aggressively defended him and often fouled him in the process without any call, but he gave it back. Someone locked arms with him (Heinricht?) and Delly looked like he was going to kill him. Not sure if all of his facial expressions and aggresiveness show well on tv, but they do if you're watching in person near the court. Remember, he was a boxer.

I think criticism of Delly comes from how his game looks. It looks like he is working his ass off and achieving modest results. Interestingly enough, that is what is actually happening. The game doesn't come easy to him, but he grinds out results. His shot is ugly, but it goes in enough that it has to be respected. He flails and stumbles when guarding guys much more talented than him, but he makes them work and wears them down. His passes are unspectacular, but they lead to easy points for guys.

I love Delly and his game. I think he is the perfect backup PG for this team.

I am very critical of Delly's game, but he stepped it up yesterday. He played better defense than usual and hit a few shots, which the team really needed.

The Cavs still need a backup PG that can take his man off the dribble, something that even the most ardent Delly supporters can't say he can do.

A quick list of smart, tough guards who could shoot and couldn't take anybody off the dribble:

Jeff Hornacek, John Paxson, Steve Kerr, Derrick Fisher, Scott Skiles, Dell Curry, Dana Barros, Danny Ainge.... I'm sure there's more...

He really is a pg too. Most backups are scorers and I don't think that is what we need. He plays great with star players and knows exactly when to pass and when to take the shot. If JR is coming off the bench I WANT Delly out there with him.

Delly was often the reason waiters was better off the bench, he knows how to set guys up in their spots
