Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Delly finished 11th on ESPN's ROY voting. It's good to see that at least a few people outside of Cleveland are noticing his talent.

This just amazes me. Who would have ever thought in October that our undrafted rookie would make rookie ladder more times than the #1 pick of the 2013 Draft? Everyone would have laughed at the absurdity. Did Bennett ever make rookie ladder once this year?

Don't kid yourself. Carlos boozer. Anderson varejao. Daniel Gibson. The cavs have routinely hit their late round picks. Dellavedova is more of the same. Trading away our second round picks likely cost Grant his job.

Andy was drafted by Orlando. We didn't have them pick for us either. We traded for him during the free agency period. That makes, what, two 2nd rounders we hit on since 2002, so 12 years? One of which, we didn't really even get to capitalize on. Delly wasn't picked, technically. And being the scapegoat was what lost Grant his job. Trading those 2nd round picks was called salvaging what Dan Gilbert forced upon this team with his impatience with a rebuilding team.

Do you think Delly will get back his number 9 when Deng doesn't sign with us ?

As I'm sure most fellow Aussies can attest, this hurts to see....

Well deserved recognition for an undrafted rookie. Congrats to Dellavedova for giving his all on the court and for being a great Cavs rep off it.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- In the 2013 NBA draft, the Cavaliers had three draft choices, including the No. 1 selection, but it was the unheralded, undrafted rookie who earned the most accolades for the team in the NBA's All-Rookie announcement Thursday.

Matthew Dellavedova, the scrappy Australian, earned 20 points for the All-Rookie Team, including three for the first team, as the most recognized Cavaliers rookie.

The first team All-Rookie squad included: Philadelphia's Michael Carter-Williams, Orlando's Victor Oladipo, Utah's Trey Burke, Brooklyn's Mason Plumlee, and New York's Tim Hardaway Jr.

The second team featured Boston's Kelly Olynyk, Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo, Minnesota's Gorgui Dieng, Charlotte's Cody Zeller and Oklahoma City's Steven Adams.

What's happening with Delly? Is his second year a team option? Are we bringing him back?

I would faint if we didn't. He fits what we are trying to do and Blatt mentioned him by name as part of our backcourt, so yes I think he plays a big bench role for our team next year.

I'd be shocked if he wasn't brought back barring something crazy on the trade/FA front.

He's the type of young blue collar guy you need to mesh with our young top talents. Harris too.

Nobody is untouchable in a trade, but it is clear the Cavaliers want to trade Jack because Delly took his backup point guard job.

I'm really just hoping he switches back to #9 this summer if/when Deng is no longer a part of this team.

I got a #9 Delly jersey tee for 50% off last year after he switched to #8 betting my money on Deng not returning to the team for next season.

Jarrett Jack is such a general. I love him but I also love Matty Dellavedova. Gotta back my Aussies ;) Similar style to Patty Mills. Always ready to and massive hustle player. Gives it his all because he's always got something to prove.

Delly doesn't have that great of ball handling skill but he is capable of making plays and knocking down shots. Plus his D is tight. Hopefully we bring him back

I do too, only because I want Wiggins to wear #8 (his national team number). I think #21 just looks weird on him. I've always felt that single digit numbers look cleaner. *shrugs*

Normally I'd agree...but I love LeBron's 23 way more than #6.
