It's on the coach. I don't care what the excuses are - you do NOT have Delly with the ball to win the game. Flat out stupid. I don't care if you have Sasha Pavlovic, Ryan Hollins, Larry Hughes, Eric Snow and Delly as the 5 on the court. I'd let Eric Snow or Ryan Hollins shoot before Delly.

Delly has a euroleague game style, he would be a superstar PG on a european team, hes smart but has close to zero athleticism (watching euroleague for over 15 years), maybe thats why Blatt has faith in him, he fits his game plan (which doesnt work in the NBA so far). I'm sure in time Blatt will find a way to mix euroleague-NBA game tactics, he needs to let go of some of his old habbits in order to succeed, it takes time to build that, I trust him to lead this team since I know him for a long time, and hes a winner.

Delly needs to go. His defense and effort are over rated because he's a scrappy white guy (btw I'm white). He seems to have definitely regressed. If he can't hit a corner 3 and make free throws he shouldn't be playing. If he would stop chewing on it and remove the oversized mouthpiece so he could actually breathe while playing maybe that would help. I don't see his NBA tenure lasting very long.

I like the guy and he made a difference in spurts last year, but I have been very disappointed in his play this year. Once Kyrie, Smith, and Shumpert are all ready to go, I wouldn't expect to see Delly for more than 8-10 minutes a game. Especially considering how much PG type play we get from LeBron

You did hear the news about how we were trading Dion and that LeBron and Kyrie were out, right?
No one thinks Delly should play that many minutes. Blatt said so himself early in the season when Kyrie was out. But tonight was a unique case because of all shit with the roster.

Yeah guys, we can knock Delly all we want, but considering the injuries and Dion being held out tonight, Blatt didn't have a choice. In terms of playing him. Final play/shot was bunk. BUt for as bad as Delly has been, he's being asked to play a role way beyond his capabilities. And is still a better option than AJ Price
Delly is the classic fringe player that you can't wait to see more of when he only gets 5 minutes a game, then can't wait to never see again once you get an extended look at him.
His complete inability to beat anybody off the dribble or finish inside kills his chances of being more than a 3rd string guy.
On top of that, he is quickly losing his defensive reputation. He has been scorched repeatedly this year by marginal players. When he can no longer come in and affect a game with defensive pressure, he essentially loses all value.
The need for a back up PG on this team is only overshadowed by the need for a legit center. But make no mistake, we REALLY need somebody with more game than Delly backing Kyrie up.
