Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think he has got to be hurt still. He looked great his first few games back. I don't blame the guy, he can play better than this. Golden State is also like a terrible matchup.

Would love to have Jameer Nelson as our back up point guard. But don't know what Boston would demand for him.

I actually wouldn't mind Gibson coming back. He ran the point for a little while when someone was injured. Was it Mo Williams? I don't remember but he can shoot the three really well and has some chemistry with LeBron and he has playoff experience. Kinda small but beggars can't be choosers. I wish we wouldn't of let Shaun Livingston go. He would've been perfect. I was surprised the Cavs didnt re-sign him.

Let's be honest, Boobie ran the point poorly, and the majority of the time it was LBJ running it and Gibson at SG. Moreover, he really didn't hit the three consistently and was one of the most streaky shooters I've seen. I'll give you the playoff experience but hasn't he been out of the league for awhile?

He's definetely not perfect but who is when you're shopping in the bargain bin. Every guy is gonna have multiple negatives but more than likely Griffin is gonna have to make a trade for a vet if he wants to upgrade.

I am willing to bet he is worse than Delly, which is saying something, because the later sucks.

Whatever bench guys we sign for depth need to be defensive specialists. We don't need yet another facilitator we need to coach the ones we have to play a system that works.

What we desperately need is defense.

The problem is we only have one roster spot. And we have multiple needs (backup PG, wing D, front court depth).

Replacing Dion with JR and Shumpert was a step in the right direction as far getting rid of duplication, but we still have Haywood and AV taking up a roster spot with no contribution.

For example, there is no need to have Miller, Jones AND Harris as they all do the same thing. Ideally, Marion would be a legit threat from the 3, and with his D, he could then see 20+ min a game.

No mistaking that this roster is flawed and I hope it's more coherent by the next season.

Delly is one of the worst offensive pgs I've ever seen. The dilemma is his talent doesn't warrant playing with starters but he also can't run the point off the bench. For everyone saying he should play 10-15 mins a game, in what situations? I fail to see any.

The issue is that he isn't a true PG, he's a combo guard. He has shown so far in his career that he's better off in a supplementary ball handling role. He has usually been out there with Kyrie or Waiters. Now, when we want to give Kyrie a rest, he's the only option. This is really his first extended look as a traditional PG. Without LeBron, he should be more of an option at SG or even SF in certain lineups. His defensive splits show he does well against SGs, and he's shooting 40% from behind the arc, which is the best on a team looking for shooters to step up. He's a useful player, just miscast as a PG right now.

I just noticed he stares down at the ball when he's pushing it up the court.

Safe to say, he won't be in Association for long.

Blatt effectively turned Delly from a fan favourite into a scape-goat. Feel bad for the kid because the small niche positives he brings to a game have been completely nullified with grossly extended minutes. He still plays hard but I fear that he doesn't have much nba life left.

Meh, Delly will be in the NBA a long time. Whether or not he is the right match for this collection of players remains to be seen because... at least half of the rotation we can expect to see in the playoffs are currently not on the floor for the Cavaliers.

I can say Delly fits in well with other ball dominant and talented athletes. There are plenty of teams like that every year in the NBA. Right now he is on a team that is playing six players who belong on the floor, and he hasn't had much time to practice with them. Shocking everything has been rocky, right?

Fair weather fans will come along for the ride once everything evens out. It's still a shame some of the same people who pine for players like Larry Sanders spend so much time bashing a player who makes the league minimum playing big minutes out of position. Tough kid, I will always follow his career, hopefully it will be in Cleveland.
