Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't want to get too attached to Delly. A lot of people, including me, were all for signing back Gee on a 'team friendly' contract after his nice start to his career. Not saying Delly is the same situation, just be wary.

Apples and oranges, but point taken.
I think a 3 year / 1 Mil per year guaranteed would be perfect for all parties. Delly will not stop hustling because it is guaranteed and it will show other guys hard work is rewarded.
Plus we are getting an excellent back up guard with a specific role for a good price.
He will continue to improve... I can see him averaging 10 points and 6 assists in a couple of seasons.

The issue, I think, is Jack's contract. Considering we're supposedly signing Kyrie to an extension this summer...tying up so much guaranteed money over the next 4 years to 4 different guards while the rest of the team has so many question marks doesn't seem like a particularly wise move.

Delly getting some outside of Cleveland love:

And Kyrie sure aint' Delly. They bring different things to the team. Not sure why that had to be included, but whatever.

So let's decode the tweet: "Delly the undrafted rookie is not as good as the all-star guard" - well there's a surprise Mr Obvious! "He's orchestrating (i.e using his brains to run the offense they train) well" - so again Mr Obvious points out what he sees.
Delly has a ceiling, but who knows what it is, the issue is what his value is apart from the obvious numbers game. He clearly has a good relationship and perhaps a little influence with Waiters, which is a good thing. Team harmony seems up and effort is way up.

Thanks, Mr. Obvious.

Yeah, not sure why some are getting riled up about the phrasing that Schuhmann used to give much-due attention to our rookie's recent success.

I guess we'd prefer insight and accurate praise for any player.

a plus 24 for Delly, pretty easy to see what turned this game

From the WWW: "Matthew Dellavedova recorded 11 points on 3-6 (.500) shooting, including 2-4 (.500) from the three-point line, two rebounds and six assists in 30 minutes off the bench. Over the last seven contests, Dellavedova is averaging 10.6 points on .532 (25-47) shooting, including .556 (15-27) from the three-point line, 3.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 30.9 minutes per game."

Solid numbers and valuable for any team...but just numbers. I am much more impressed with how the team is playing as a team, their manner of play will help them overcome perhaps more talented teams that reply on specific players to shine. The other upside is that fans can appreciate a team that works hard and they perhaps value to wins more and understand the losses and in effect bond with a team. This will build the support base and in turn make the team stronger.

A season worth of those numbers would make you a top 5-10 rookie this season.

This thread needs to be renamed "Matthew Dellavedova: Blossoming Flower".
