Mayweather vs Pacquiao | May 2, 2015

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wait... when did we decide Ray Lewis was the one actually doing the murdering?

I don't think boxing gained any fans tonight. I appreciate what I saw...but it was so boring.

I think the only boxing match I might go out of my way to see is that GGG guy. Maybe.

Wait... when did we decide Ray Lewis was the one actually doing the murdering?

When his suit went missing and the blood was found in his limousine.

Not enough to prove it in a court of law, but neither were most of Mayweather's crimes, now were they?

Mayweather is a bad person. That's life.

But man do I get a kick out of all the ESPN talking heads going in on Mayweather for his women beating (and he deserves it) when Ray Lewis is their colleague.

Never forget, ESPN pundits, you work with a murderer.

Just had to throw that out there after I saw Beadle say she would no longer watch the WWE because Triple H is close friends with Mayweather.

Michelle, Ray Lewis stabbed a woman to death, and the company you've chosen to work for also employs him.

And Jim Rome is a wife beater too. Another colleague.

Bill Simmons was on SVP and Rusillo either last week or the week before and somehow the conversation got to iirc ESPN personalities you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley and Simmons brought up Ray. :chuckle:

Needless to say the interview wrapped up pretty quickly haha

Since we're not gonna talk about the fight, but instead talking about people as bad as or worse than Mayweather that still get levels of support from people:

Just to put things into perspective.

But yeah, Mayweather is a foul ass dude.. No doubt..

Yea I'll let it go.

I just can't deal with so many ESPN talking heads trying to be the moral police while Ray Lewis is eating a sandwich down the hall.

At least the Ravens didn't tell you what you should and shouldn't watch while employing Lewis. They kept paying him to win football games.

I guess I don't follow this logic. Are the other ESPN talking heads supposed to quit their jobs because their bosses decided to hire Ray Lewis? I don't think they had a say in his hiring.

Some of them, like Michelle Beadle, could get a high paying job on any other sports network. Remaining there is by choice. I'm going to tell you, unequivocally, I'd never work at ESPN as long as Ray Lewis was working there.

But it's more about the laughable hypocrisy. It's not that she was going after Mayweather, it's that she then said she'd no longer watch or support the WWE because Triple H was friends with Mayweather. Now that takes something special to take a stance like that while choosing to get up everyday of your life and go work with Ray Lewis, doesn't it? And again, especially for someone like her who would have no problem whatsoever heading on over to Fox Sports or NBC Sports or wherever, get a job instantly while probably picking her number as well.

Not making a direct comparison here but if you watch old Ali film, he dances around the ring as well. Mayweather/Ali are both really tactical (Ali more aggressive) but nonetheless slippery.. I think people are just used to watching highlights. They aren't really the same style of fighter but you get the point where people were pissed off Mayweather was "screwing around."

If you watch old commentators talk about Ali, they would trash him for running away too.. Now he's considered the greatest of all time, and rightfully so.

If only... If only he had been more willing to dance, and move, and dodge, and not get hit - maybe he'd be more able to enjoy is status as The Greatest.

I'll be the first to admit I know very little about boxing. I rarely watch the sport unless it's a match between two "known" fighters. I don't have a lot of friends in the area where I live, so paying $100 myself to watch this fight wasn't going to happen. But even I knew enough about how Mayweather boxes to know that this was going to be more of a strategic and tactical fight than it would be a bloodbath. I'm a little disappointed I didn't get to see two masters practice their craft even though I'm not a huge boxing fan. However, being able to watch Game 7 of the Spurs-Clippers series made up for it.

I will just say that the way some people here are getting ultra defensive over how shit this bout was is fucking hilarious. Keep going.

For the boxing purists who are still alive....great fight.

For the millions who watched the dream fight because of the spectacle, hype, and history...."that's it? No wonder no one watches boxing".
