Mayweather vs Pacquiao | May 2, 2015

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Boxing needs great heavyweights for it to be entertaining to the masses again. Boxing purists enjoyed this fight but it was a boring fight for most people that watched it.

I WANNA SEE SOME BLOOD.

I actually agree with all of this.. IF you don't understand the sport, you wouldn't like the fight.. because you don't understand the sport.

Stephen A. Smith, oddly enough, pretty much summed it up perfectly. Mayweather was simply brilliant. No one came to Vegas thinking Mayweather would possibly knock out Pacquiao, no one with sense.

So... what's the frustration? It must be because people were foaming at the mouth wanting to see Mayweather get dropped. Now they're upset.... Even the commentators stopped and spoke about it numerous times.. People saw this as Good vs Evil, and they shouldn't. Now they're pissed..

Fuck outta here..

Just popped in the thread, and I gotta say, I can't find any comments that relate to boxing...

Lol..

This was a great fight, and Mayweather fought one of his best fights. Wtf did you expect him to do?? He's been fighting the same way for 47 previous bouts.. This isn't MMA, and these guys aren't heavyweights. This fight was going to the cards.

He outpunched, and outboxed Manny Pacquiao.. Who can say they saw that coming? I can't believe I'm reading shit about Floyd "dancing," like, have y'all ever watched Floyd?

Anyone here expecting a knockout, or even a knockdown, has no idea about the sport of boxing.

I think a lot of people who tuned in didn't have a clue about Mayweather's fighting style.

This thing was promoted so much that it got a lot of casuals or people who are used to watching MMA and expected a much different affair.

Mayweather outpunched Pacquiao.. Try again...

The hate in this bitch is real...

Holy shit that was boring as hell. Manny apparently "lost a fight" but he looked completely unscathed.

And before you come at me with a "it's like you've never seen Floyd fight", gour, I happily admit that I have not. This was my first time giving boxing a chance and dear Lord did it disappoint. Nothing happened.

If anything I'm walking away questioning the legitimacy of this activity in general. Awful stuff. Glad I stole it.

I don't believe that at all. It shouldn't have even been this close.

But is that something that can really be repeated? There was YEARS of build up for this fight. What was the last fight to have this much attention? Boxing feels like Haley's comet at this point.

I think the problem with boxing today is that there are no great American heavyweights... Boxing hasn't gone away, it's just that Americans are no longer the best heavyweight boxers.

As far as welterweight and thereabouts, Mayweather has been the best in class in the history of the sport. His style is incredible, and folks are thirsty to see him lose. Anyone actually watching this fight and understanding boxing wouldn't be upset, unless, you wanted Mayweather to fall.

I will say this is pretty amazing how nostalgic people are for boxing.

I wonder how long that will take to die off, but until then it's pretty clear that a vast majority of this country is yearning boxers to care about.

So basically its tennis nowadays... only if Mardy Fish were by far the best player in the world.

That was like watching (or not watching in my case), a Super Bowl that ended 3-0. Two batted balls, zero interceptions. Four quarterback hurries, zero sacks. One fumble that bounced out of bounds without anyone touching it. QB's went 10-15 for 75 yards on all screen passes and 5 yard slants.

Remember when @Damien O'Connel made the thread about Lionel Messi being the best overall athlete in any sport?

Remember how much shit he got for that?

It was pretty obvious most of the commenters had no idea about the sport of soccer.... that's pretty evident in this thread.

You didn't watch the fight?

Lol...
