Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
MKG reminds me a bit of a "LeBron-lite" in almost every way.

Including his shoulder which he apparently injures every other game on hard-ish foul and then is fine two minutes later as we saw last night. (see also: Elbowgate)

I agree with Beal over MKG.

I also think MKG is a SG in the league, not a SF. I don't think he has the size to guard most SFs.

6'7" 230 lbs isn't big enough?

I like Beal as much as anybody, but I'd still put it as a dead heat between the two. Beal is a better fit and is very talented, but improve MKG's jump shot and he's a perennial All-Star.

I am not saying he is not an elite player or he is not smart. But he seems extremely dumb in the interviews, makes me doubt if his IQ is more than 60.

As others have stated, he has had a speech impediment all his life. From what I understand he has progressed a lot from where he used to be. It's not a question of his IQ, although I'm not saying that he's smart; I know nothing about his intelligence.

Either way he seems to make some smart plays on the court by drawing a defender in when driving the lane and lobbing the ball up to the open big. He has a nice feel for the game and crashes the boards even harder than Gee. You gotta love that.

Anyhow, to make this post on-topic, if MKG can develop a reliable three-ball, he could have superstar potential because he could take you off the dribble, or he could step back for a three ball, thus making his dribble penetration even more dangerous. Does anyone else see MKG having a realistic chance of developing even a .35 3p%?.

Wouldn't say it's probable or anything like that, but I wouldn't be surprised. With the heart MKG has, you really never know what's gonna happen. I know 3pt shooting and free throws are very different, but Tristan has shown us that a player can vastly improve a facet of their game if they work at it hard enough. Which MKG is very likely to do, having seen how hard of a worker he is on the floor.

With MKG, Varejao and Thompson on the floor: Biggest pain in the ass team in the league....People would HATE playing against three hustler-types. Andy and MKG especially....

And the worst offensive frontcourt in the league.
