Fucking phenomenal write up by Tom Reed. Well informed and did his research.
Make this man the beat writer.
Nah, research? He wouldn't fit in.

Impressive for the Ravens to look at 30+ guys, but pathetic and desperate if you're the Browns. Got it.

Are you really still pushing this?
I mean...you have absolutely lost and you're still rocking this...
People like to come around here to say who will be bad, what won't work or who won't come to Cleveland. Here's the thing: most chances taken in the NFL, especially by the Browns in their downtrodden state, don't work out. Most players drafted don't justify the pick.
People around here want credit for predicting misfortunes and failed attempts at doing whatever.. In actuality, these folks' predictions are pretty much like asking for kudos for predicting a sunny day in San Diego during a drought. Most of us are hoping for rain and trying to get out of the drought...
Its to fill the ego, like a man beating his wife to prove to himself that he's macho.
How many removed themselves from consideration for the Ravens job?
Asking for a friend.
Removing from consideration = complete pathetic failure of an attempt to hire.
How close am I?
Like McDaniels, who they called again before hiring Pettine?
Or Gase, who turned them down basically on spec?
I mean lets just step away from the fact that the two scenarios are different entirely. One involves an established head coach replacing an offensive coordinator (with a sub.500 career record), the other is a hapless front office firing their guy and unintentionally having to expand the field because your top options turned you down.
Your narrative was a complete failure, as Jigo said. I can't believe you're still pushing it like the wide search was their intention throughout.
I don't know if a wide search was their intent or not. Personally, I don't think Albert Breer or other guys on Twitter know either. I think they are fed stuff from their sources, people like Bob LaMonte. So, do I know that it's true? No, but I HATE people who try to act like they have all the answers. Which is pretty much what you and Jigs are doing. And that's pure garbage. And I will not sit here and feed the ego of a few online experts.
Sure you will, when they tell you what you want to hear or fits the sunshiny agenda you've been pushing. As soon as the information about Alec Scheiner emailing the staff, you were the one of the first people on here trying to claim it debunked the thought there was any disarray whatsoever regarding the coaching search.
Like yourself, I'm just going by what was reported, and it was reported widely, then drawing perfectly logical conclusions that just about any objective person can make. They could not even deny Pettine was not their first choice in the introductory presser, but they are (and I am) excited to see what the guy has.
It doesn't mean I totally have to block out the debacle that was the coaching search, as it's painfully evident there were multiple failures in communication along the way. Painfully obvious that the front office was unable to sell the job to Josh McDaniels or to Adam Gase's agent. Who knows who else they were rebuffed by on the way.
All we can do now is hope this debacle ended up with them hiring a pretty good coach to bail them out.
All the answers? No.
The answer to whether the Browns made the wrong hire just one year ago after being turned down by their top choices, fired the coach one year afterwards, were turned down by their top choices during this year's coaching search, were said to have been actively searching for a new coach a couple games into the season, are looked down upon by other front offices and roundly criticized by national and local media regarding the search itself...not to mention coming off of having another shitty team...
Yeah, I'm fairly confident about that one.
Anyways...I'm done with this one. It's been handled and if you can't see it and don't like my take and approach to when I'm proven right...too bad.
