So Long, Mo Gotti Williams

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Mo is the backup we desperately need. He'd also be playing with backups whom started and good enough to start. Sorry Delly, he can get limited minutes and im sure he'll make the best of them.

Just pay attention to how Mo shoots off a dribble/pick, how he'll penetrate and either bounce pass it for a dunk or kick it out for a mid range. His quick first step is also still there. 38% 3pt, still will shoot it good.

Something we aren't use to from our backup PG. Mo is a below average defender but we'll have to take it against other backups.

Not totally hating on Delly, he's an luxory to have with the addition of Mo.

That list is for the PGs and then you can click on the other tabs for all the other positions. What guys do you think are realistic better options than Mo for our MLE(which is smaller than most teams MLE).
Not saying there aren't any better options, but just want to get other peoples takes on what we can realistically get for that 3 million per year. It's not going to be much more than what you described(depth, insurance policy, mix and match with Delly)

Maybe Jeremy Lin or CJ Watson. Corey Joseph has some upside too, imo.
But yeah, I'd still take Mo over all of these guys.

Mo is one of my all-time favorite Cavs, and as great as the nostalgia would be...

I think we can do better; we need multiple players who can defend coming off the bench. We can't afford to add anymore liabilities on defense.

Maybe his offense is his defense......jk!

So who are some guys who can defend coming off the bench for 3 million.

Is Aminu from Dallas an option? He's sturdy and physical but I worry about his shot being in MarionLand

Yes because I'm definitely suggesting defensive-only players...

You don't focus one way or another. You find guys who has a variety of skills. Get more for what you pay for.

I thought they were looking for players aged around 26-30. C'mon now, he ain't getting any younger and we saw how our veterans were nonfactors during the Finals and this lack of depth cost us alot. Management will probably go for a backup pg and sf (and maybe another insurance big), make those two pieces (pg,sf) count.

Problem is, guys who have a variety of skills are going to command more than what we can offer them.

Another playmaker is a need for us. Mo will be fine, especially if Shump stays. We also saw Kyrie improve defensively this season.

We need a guy who can provide scoring and playmaking ability should Kyrie get hurt again

Kyrie is going to get banged up. All PGs do. Just look at the playoffs. Irving, Wall, Paul, Conley all had substantial injuries.

We really need some insurance behind Irving and it can't just be Delly. From a skill perspective, Williams would be a great fit to fill in when Irving misses some games at least due to "maintenance"

Not too concerned about his age. He's 32. Our other two PGs are 23 and 24. He isn't 35 like Miller or 37 like Marion. He can still play.

I'd be very surprised if we "could do better" when that player is getting the taxpayer MLE. It has to be someone who wants to be here because they want to be here, not because they are getting a shit ton of money from us that no one else is offering. Hard to do better than Mo in that situation.

I want MO Back. Was definitely one of my favorite players. Also loved the little jingle they played with Mo Gotti hit the 3!!

Andre Miller is 39.

Yea, I'm not worried about Mo's age.
