Most of us do not like this team! Why ?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I find myself looking forward to next year and watching young guys that want play and play hard with passion.
This team hasn't done that all year. I could watch a team with Cedi/Ante/Mikal Bridges and whoever else they can get
for the assets they have. I feel kinda stupid that we may never sniff the finals again in my lifetime but I find myself a bit worn out
of the whole Lebron drama every year and overpaid players that don't give a shit anymore.
There will not be any new shiny rookie. Gilbert will demand the pick is traded for some half ass all star in hopes of snagging the 8th seed and promise everyone a title before LeBron .

Man I just think back to that BOS game, and how excited we all were and how incredible the team played. The new guys were all making plays, the defense looked worlds better, etc

Now it’s like we have entirely different players but the product looks exactly the same as before the trade deadline

Point being to me the players aren’t the issue here....I like the pieces we have. To me the coaching staff is draining the joy from the games because you just wonder how much better we would look with a top shelf coach maximizing the roster

We set ourselves up for disappointment assuming Rodney Hood, Larry Nance, Jordan Clarkson and George Hill were the keys to success for a playoffs contender. 3 out of the 4 were pure salary dumps. They are good NBA players; but, these guys are good in limited reserve roles -- not being primary components to a team that lacks so many fundamental pieces in it's starting lineup...

The deadline trade was a punt on this season -- that's what it was intended to be. I cannot reasonably assume that Altman and Gilbert actually thought this roster was beating the Warriors, let alone win 2 games.

So I would say that it is the players, it's also the coaching, and it's also the management. It's the entire organization. We're just not a championship caliber team at this point -- from the top-down.

But I'll say this. He NEVER had to come back here. He did US a favor, more than him.
Eh. The stars aligned for LeBron to repair his image AND compete for titles. You're right that he "could have gone anywhere" but Cleveland was really the best possible location at the time. It was ideal, frankly; wash away the stain of The Decision, be embraced as the good guy and hero while having a young care headlined by all-stars Love and Kyrie carry him through his later years.

It worked for the most part, except for the part about Kyrie and Love being the tentpoles he could lean on. It turns out his workload actually increased after Miami and Kyrie didn't even want to stick around to play with him after 3 years. Funnily enough, Kyrie "Decision'ed" LeBron.

I'm over it at this stage too. Cavs basketball has been joyeless the past 2 years and the specter of LeBron's second departure hovering over it just isn't good for the soul. Strategize how to improve the team in the offseason and make a pitch to LeBron; if he's not "All In" then good riddance.

There is no way we get that much better res le players that we got, we are not building Warriors 2 no matter who the GM is.

But the coaching, that’s something that can maximize performance and that something we could maximize. Even LeBron could be turned into part of a system if the right man was to coach him and actually prove him he knows some stuff he doesn’t. It’s hard to imagine the same exact rosters are swapped with let’s say Boston and we would be jealous of their play while Tatum, Brown and the likes would get averaged here...

I think there's a combination of reasons for why a lot of us are burnt out with this team. I can't speak for everyone but rooting for mostly Cleveland professional sports teams we're used to a lot of mediocrity, losing or disappointment. Even looking back on the initial Lebron years we didn't have the talent we've had over the last few years. Being a legit championship contender every year and being in the championship round for three consecutive years is something I don't think any of us were prepared for and raised expectations make it to where anything less than a championship is a failure.

Something that has made it difficult for me the last couple of years in the intense amount of scrutiny the team is always under from the national media and local media. Right now the NBA is my favorite sports league but after a Cavs loss it's gotten to the point where I don't listen to the radio, I don't watch sports TV or go on Twitter. It just feels exhausting having to listen to all the bullshit everyday. Winning a championship almost felt like a relief more than a celebration because it meant people could never say we couldn't win one but now everyone wants to label it a fluke because we haven't beaten one of the greatest/luckiest teams ever since then.

Which also brings up another problem, we have a really dysfunctional organization and coaching staff. Three years of dysfunction was enough but this last year has been a complete shitshow from trading our second best player after losing in the Finals to bringing on players I don't care to root for this year has sucked. The players we still have from the championship season have either regressed, been injured or stayed the same. Seeing the whole core of the championship team be gone within two years is like seeing your favorite Transformers character get killed off in the animated movie.

I think there's also the every present knowledge that this run is basically living on borrowed time because Lebron could (will) leave and then we'll be one of the worst teams in the league again. It just feels exhausting being a fan of the team.

I pretty much agree with you. I am just sick of all of the drama. And frankly, much of it falls on LBJ.

Kyrie was the guy he needed. mend the relationship with him, or better yet never let it get bad in the first place.

LBJ had issues with Love the first all season and had to had some pool meeting to mix it up.

LBJ, is he coming back or not. I am at the point I do not care. Thank you for coming back and getting the ring. Go where you want. Gilber can beg him because he has $$ money in the game. I dont

It would be refreshing to start over with Cedi, Zizic, nance clarkson and the pick as your starting over core. Still have some expiring contracts in JR and Korver to move at the deadline when contenders would be looking
And you have a big chip in Love

We will have a long way to go and probably will never get back to title contention unless we luck out in the draft but at this point I am good with it

The team looks lifeless, half the time.

The coaches are cLueless (tm). They are experts at minimizing talent. Our defensive schemes and effort are rotten. No one is a leader, except Bron, and Bron is passive-aggressive most of the time. TT, JR, Korver, and Hill fell off a cliff. Hood's shot is inconsistent, and he can't defend. Love can't stay healthy or score with any consistency. Jeff Green was surprisingly-good for a half a year, before turning into the world's biggest turd. We don't have a center that our idiot coaches are willing to use.

What is GOOD about our team (at least, for another 3 games)?
1. Bron is still a superhero, when he wants to be;
2. Nance is a force of nature, when healthy;
3. Clarkson can score, when he's on;
4. Cedi and Zizic bring energy and skill, when given a chance;
5. Calderon has been solid, much better than anticipated.

The bad far outweighs the good.

This is not a team that has the stuff to make a deep playoff run. This could all be over in a week.

For me personally I find the defense maddening. It makes no sense and is poorly run. How many times has time given up 35 + points in the first quarter. I missed watching two games in the last two year. This year a I've turned games off before half time about ten times. If they don't care why should I?

I hate watching a team that doesn't seem to give a shit. Sometimes this team plays like they don't have anything to prove, but the fact is that as a whole this team has proven absolutely nothing. They don't seem to have any fire in the belly.

I think the talent is there. But without the right attitude talent is worthless.

This series will test the mettle of this squad. Indy is looking to bitch-smack the Cavs and they think the Cavs will back down. Clearly a lot has to change, and it remains to be seen if this squad has a set of balls or not.

I may be staging a walkout/boycott to have Daniel Gilbert fired as owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The city of Cleveland will take over ownership with a 5 man panel elected to oversee the FO and the team in general. Hire a GM and work with him to rebuild the team. Members of the 5 man panel must be NBA experienced. Player, coaching, FO experience etc.. Residents of the greater Cleveland area will partake in voting on the nominees.

This is just a general outline of said plan.

I’m open to suggestions and support
. Thank You sincerely Me

Well, for one the Warriors broke the NBA. So it always feels like even if the games are fun to watch, a championship is not really within reach without injuries or a miracle series where everyone plays lights out.

But the team also is not fun to watch. LeBron doesn’t care about the regular season and it trickles down to everyone else. It’s hard to get excited when guys aren’t putting in an honest effort. That’s why people like Cedi, he plays hard every second he’s out there.

The front office seemed to value multiple pieces over star players. Ultimately, that’s not good enough to win. I was not too crazy about the trade deadline deals. I was cautiously optimistic the pieces could gel, but ultimately we got a player in Hill who just doesn’t seem to want to create on offense, Clarkson who while talented makes too many dumb mistakes, Hood who is always injured and doesn’t seem to fit in the type of system we have, and Nance, who is pretty good.

We probably should have rescinded the Boston trade unless they threw in someone better or another top pick. IT was damaged goods and Crowder was an expendable piece for them with Tatum and Brown.

You can’t win a championship with only one player who can go get his own shot whenever he wants (sorry, by Love is not that second guy). I don’t care if the team has LeBron James or not, Michael Kordan, or Wilt. In today’s NBA with teams that can score like the Rockets and Warriors, no one player is good enough to beat them. So not getting some sort of star back for Kyrie really hurt.

I've got a bit of a different take on this. While, as a whole, I've enjoyed very little about this season and the players on our roster (and I'm not going to re-iterate those points - most of you have done a great job in outlining these already), there was a time - short as it was - that I was totally euphoric about this team's chances.

Cast your minds back to this:

First game with the new squad. We didn't know what to expect and I must admit, I approached this with a great deal of trepidation. Watch those highlights and you see a swagger that doesn't feel present right now. There was an energy about the unknown, a feeling of anxious intrigue about what this team could become.

Watch every bucket on offense. No complicated sets, just high IQ, natural basketball.

This was before the meddling by the coaching staff, the locker room pressures, injuries, rotation ambiguities and the expectation that Guy A should get X shots and Guy B should get Y shots.

This was a bunch of guys who knew how to play good ball and were out there doing just that. I remember jumping up and down with excitement after watching the brand of basketball they played that day.

But of course, as we progressed, things for one reason or another went downhill pretty quickly.

I guess while there's a lot to dislike about these Cavs (Jeff Green's ineptitude, Hood's under-performance, Hill's lack of impact and no clear third best player), I still hold hope that this team can re-ignite. These aren't really a bunch of guys you'll ever like that much individually - but as a team, if they can somehow get on the same damn page, there's still a lot left to like about them as a collective.

I will just say Hood is talented, but he needs to mature. I think Cedi is also going to earn a starting spot on some roster next year..

George Hill has been disappointing, but given the circumstances, he was the best of we could get.

I honestly think we should just try Lebron at pg, and play hood, cedi, love and NanceJr.
