Moved to Lakewood

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah. Not really comfortable with it.

I'm quitting the site.

Lakewood is the dive bar capital of Cleveland. Seriously, most bars per capita in the area. The city runs on alcohol. Just work your way down Detroit and Madison and try them all. All of them are some variation of sketchy and low brow yet more down to earth than what you will find in other nightlife spots in the city. Lakewoodians acts like they are different, but each bar really isnt since the same groups move from one to the other. Sort of like the digestive tract of a cow. Also, do note that Lakewood is probably the most racist part of the city. Its full of young people of Irish descent who love to start fights. So if you get into a tiff with some dude and he just leaves, that doesn't mean it's over- he is probably waiting in the parking lot with his bros. Have fun!

Not sure if serious but terribly inaccurate. This is West Park, not Lakewood.

Why are you being so Fedor about this?

West Park, Lakewood, same thing. I'm glad you brought up West Park because both areas act the same but think they are different. I've witnessed it repeatedly over a decade. Lakewood is a fun little city at night and more 'friendly' than other night life areas around town but I'm not going to ignore its warts because I like it.

What the hell are you talking about? Seriously, I'm not sure I understand your point? :chuckle: "They act the same, but think they're different!"

Born and raised in Lakewood. And when I was moving out about 4 months ago, my cheapest and by far best option was... Lakewood. Still there, still love what it has to offer - a lot of food, bars, a short commute downtown, and the valley (Metroparks) is gorgeous. I won't be here forever, but I still enjoy it.

Hit these spots up (some of which have been mentioned):

Restaurants:
  • Buckeye Beer Engine - Best burger in the city, bar none.
  • Barrio - Not sure if you've tried either the Tremont or downtown locations, but their tacos are great. Prepare to wait 15-20 minutes for a table, though
  • Melt - Long waits at times, but my food never disappoints
  • Harry Buff - All around solid food and beer
  • Jammy Buggars - Great burgers and food
  • El Carnicero - People rave about this Mexican place
Best Under the Radar:
  • *The Place To Be* - Best (or possibly worst) kept secret in Lakewood. Best breakfast in the city, you'll get your meals in like 7 minutes. Friendly staff, huge servings, best omelets, etc. Bring cash. Hangover cure.
  • Rush Inn - Under the radar restaurant near the west end of Lakewood. Best wings in the city - breaded to perfection
  • Pepper's Italian Restaurant - Small little Italian joint toward the East side of Lakewood on Detroit
  • Pepper's Italian Restaurant - Small little Italian joint toward the East side of Lakewood on Detroit.
  • PEPPERS ITALIAN RESTAURANT
Yesss!

It's better than Angelos, hands down. I'm Italian and have visited over a thousand Italian restaurants in my day.
Never do I order a pizza with extra sauce to dunk in. Once you try their sauce, you just can't get enough.

If you go on the weekends they have a fantastic creamy red tortellini soup that's incredible!
Seriously go to Peppers, order takeout. Have some extra napkins on deck to wipe up your excitement.

Hopefully this means food and not.........................

If you're a man and you complain about too much grease on a pizza, then you're no man at all.
