David - yeah, they probably just borrowed that same rule from co-ed leagues way back in the day. Having played in those Chicago leagues though, I'm confident gays can kick as much ass on the softball field as straights in general. My gay teams there were better than the 1 year I played co-ed back here in Cleveland.

My first game in that Chicago league? The center fielder (maybe right fielder?) of the opposing team had his jersey shirt rolled into a tummy shirt, and he was twirling and shit warming up before the first inning. His first at bat? A fence-clearing home run.
