NBA All Star Voting Begins Today!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So umm bot time? Anyone know how to make one? 5 Cavs starters would be completely fatastic.

Irving-Waiters-Casspi-Thompson-Varejao

Was just thinking there is no way both Andy and Kyrie get in if the team keeps playing like this. They will never take two players from a really bad team, even if they deserve it.

Maybe, though if Kyrie stays in the top five in league scoring he'll likely get voted in and if Varejao keeps up his game the coaches will probably put him it.

I'm just as likely to make the All Star Team as Omri.

West: Westbrook, Kobe, Aldridge, M. Gasol, Duncan

East: Kyrie, Stuckey, T. Prince, Casspi, Varejao

Write-in: Waiters

You gotta vote in bad players in the guard and forward spots in the east so you don't give a vote to other players that could take Andy or Kyrie's spots.

This is the truth.

Fan voting only decides the starters. There are instances where, even if a player has the 3rd most votes, they won't even be in the all-star game because they aren't in the top 2 for voting, and they don't have the skills to be in the game to begin with. For example, if you're going by votes, Jeremy Lin has many more votes than Kyrie, so he should be a lock for an all-star game, right? Only 2 guards get to start in the all-star game per conference, and Kobe and Paul are going to be the starters. Unless Lin's votes overtake one of those two, he won't even be in the all-star game despite having the 3rd most votes overall because he's just not that good. If Kyrie doesn't start, he could get edged out by the coaches because there are so many good point guards AND we're not a winning team.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if Kyrie makes the all-star game simply on the merit of how exciting he is to watch. The NBA will always hoist up its flashiest players like Blake Griffin and Kyrie Irving because they sell tickets and merchandise.

theres no way the cavs get 2 players in the all star game with their record, the coaches reward players on winning teams (think back to the pistons etc...) kyrie will need to get voted in for andy to also make it IMHO

If you give a shit about this stuff, then get voting.

yep...to get into the all star game you need to either be on one of the best teams in the league, or you need to be a flashy "highlight film" type player. Kyrie has the flash aspect, Andy does not...hence Andy isn't likely to get in. The all star game is about scoring and dunking, not defense and rebounding.

It's called the all-star game, not the "players having a good season so far game". Fans get to vote for who they want to see.
