2019 NBA Draft Lottery

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We’ve already one the lottery 3 times in the last 16 years. There is absolutely, positively NO WAY we are winning it this year. In fact, I think we’ll finish with the number 7 pick. I’m so sure we aren’t getting pick number 1 that I will give up alcohol if we win the lottery.

Gather together, troops.

Right now, what we need is your negativity more than ever.

Some in this fan base have jinxed us by claiming us a lock for Zion, and we need you to lose faith in our ability to move up with your whole heart and soul.

We tanked for this moment. We sucked for this moment. We've come too damn far now to turn back.

Post as many negative draft lottery takes as you can. It is time. Some franchises fall into the lavish life of NBA basements. We, we were born here. We were raised here. This is where we thrive. The darkness is our shield. The pain, our sword.

For it is in negativity and self-loathing that we, Cleveland fans, may rise from the ashes.

My bold prediction: The league draws out our ping pong ball tonight, but they find that it has the wrong serial number. They believe it to be counterfeit, smuggled in by Nick Gilbert, our young knight. We are forced to forfeit our 1st round pick entirely. After filing an appeal, we lose #26 as well for "excessive bitching."

Embrace Cam Reddish. It's who we are destined to be stuck with.

Welcome to the NBA lottery where the worst three teams all individually have a 47.9% chance of picking outside the top4!
Don’t get me started on this. I guess “hope” is our strategy!

Lottery has just been drawn.

My inside guy told me we pick 12th.

Just keep us in the top-3 for the love of God.

Anything better than that is gravy, but if we have a chance at Barrett or Morant at the very least, then I'm happy.

The winners have been decided ever since the season ended

Tonight is just announcing the results of the “lottery”

Wake up

Just keep us in the top-3 for the love of God.

Anything better than that is gravy, but if we have a chance at Barrett or Morant at the very least, then I'm happy.

We’re not in the top3 currently

We have 40% odds of getting into the top3 in about an hour.

With that pedantic moment behind me, god yes, please have the end result be us somewhere in the top3

Finally have come around on lowering my expectations.. I personally will he happy as long as top 3..I'm a Ja fan here but think either Zion, Ja, and Even RJ now would flourish and develope under Beilein great.
So lowering your expectations means we still get a top 3 pick? The numbers say we would be lucky to even land the 3rd pick if I’m understanding correctly. I’m hoping for the best but expecting the worst.
For fun, and because I have issues, last night I ran the Tankathon simulator 100 times. Here's what I got:

1(14% odds): 13 times
2(13.4%): 19 times
3(12.7%): 14 times
4(12%): 15 times
5(27.8%): 28 times
6(20.1%): 11 times

(As bleak as that looks, my 100 tries actually outperformed our actual odds off staying in the top3)

The bottom line for every single team/fanbase in the lottery is that if you're sights are set on just Zion or Ja or even Barrett, be very prepared to be disappointed and be very educated on who the next tier of prospects are. But also recognize that players like Steph, Klay, Kawhi, Giannis, Wade, Bosh, Dame, PG13, Jimmy Butler, McCollum, Jokic, Love, CP3, DeRozan, Cousins, Drummond, Porzingis, Booker, Kemba, and more were all taken outside of the top3, many in the 6-15 range. It is obviously FAR preferable to be in the top3 but to act like ELITE talent isn't found every year outside of it is a non-truth. Regardless, and more than ever, a lot of luck is required.
Was going to say something similar but your version is much more positive! I’m rolling with this mentality!

Just no to the Knicks or Lakers. Give me 3rd overall right now and I’d take it and run.

If we don’t secure a top3 pick, how do we indentify the next Klay Thompson, Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, or Jimmy Butler.

The two way wing who for has the tools and drive to become an All NBA player while at the same time enough flaws or overlooked traits that they were never universally regarded as top6 picks on their draft class.

Some common threads with those 4 guys is that none of them played for a major blue blood program, none of them were one and dones, and all of them have ideal/plus measurables.

If we’re at 4-6, how do we ID that guy and take him, even if the pundits and fans have him earmarked for the 10-20 range? Any thoughts on who in this draft class is most like any of the 4 of them?

The lottery isn’t rigged. Statistically we have about a 45% chance of a top 3 pick. Those are solid odds. I have a feeling we are going to be happy tonight.

What is the consensus time we think we will actually know where the pick is? I'm saying 8:50pm est.
