2019 NBA Draft Lottery

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Langford or Doumboya + Gogo is a really good outcome, only thing is its a really good outcome for the hawks too and well they have those picks... :ambivalence:

As solid of a defender and around the basket as Langford projects to transfer he did not do enough in Indiana to indicate he is remotely close to being a better option than several others that will be available even in a trade down to 8 situation. I could see Cavs having little interest in trading down to 8 & 10 even if the Hawks wanted somebody bad enough to move up 3 spots for, chances are that same player was high enough on the Cavs board to just take them at 5.
Also I think Hawks are still in need of more than 1 piece and won't see much difference between options at 8 as what would be there at 5 given Garland and White could easily go 6 and 7 if not sooner so unless Garland goes 3 or 4 and ATL thinks White is a lock at 6 leaving the Bulls with options outside of pg where one of the Hawks key targets Hunter,Culver etc will be taken do they even entertain the idea of giving up their rights to Cavs 2020 or sending out both 8 and 10.
Cavs have little to offer to move up from 5 to 2 or 3 unless Love or Sexton are on the move so the odds are slim they don't stay at 5.
I do like the idea of grabbing another late first and a 2nd from the Blazers,Nets or maybe as high as 13 to Miami for J.R. depending on what level of tax the Cavs are willing to stay in taking back a bad contract by doing that instead of just cutting him before July.

Is there a reason folks keep mentioning trading #5 to the Hawks for #8 and 10?

Alot of us hoped it could happen earlier but there was an article a couple days ago that I posted that had alot of draft rumblings. It specifically said that if the Hawks landed at #2 that they would have taken a hard look at Culver. Which got some of our hopes up that the Hawks might fall in love with Culver and be willing to move up.

#5 for #8 and #10 really is about the Hawks hopefully falling in love with one guy that could land at #5.

This is what I was looking for. A specific (enough) reason that the Hawks would *want* to move up, instead of relying on a hope that the Cavaliers could convince the Hawks to give up two mediocre spots for 1 slightly less mediocre spot. Thanks for the update.

I think ATL wants Hunter and Hayes and if they think they won't get either at 8 they would do 8 and 34 for 5 and the 2020 pick rights go back to Cavs to get one of them. But I would think Cavs would hang up the phone because they could get more for the 5th from Chicago if Garland is gone at 4 and the Bulls want White

Reddish is a big no from me. Would love to get 8 and 10 from Hawks and draft a wing + gogo but cant see hawks even contemplating a trade

Word is Hawks really like Culver. Maybe 5 plus 26 for 8 and 10, but I doubt they would do it.

We should just take culver because he’s good and fits our team

Coby white please

I like Coby White too. While not the absolute perfect fit with Sexton and Cedi for the modern NBA, I think it's the best we can get at #5. I think he fits the bill for upside, fit, floor, and work ethic. It would be a fun brand of basketball to watch. Coby plays well both on and off the ball. Him and Sexton's speed would be a nightmare for teams.

For me if Coby works with Sexton then it a clear picture of what we need to build the team going forward. Go after wings and forwards that are versatile. No real need to draft anymore guards. Ball handling becomes an added plus instead of a necessity going forward for our future high draft picks.
