Need some help planning my trip to the US

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
to add to this, there is a B-spot in the Q. So you won't even have to go out of your way to go there. I have never ate there though, so cant give my opinion.

Seriously?? Where in The Q is it? I never knew there was one in there.

So as far as accommodation goes, where do you recommend staying in Cleveland? Preferably somewhere close to the Q I'd say.

It looks like we'll be coming in the winter time - February at this point - as it's the only time we can both fit it in.

Stay at the Renaissance.

The tall building in the center is the Terminal Tower at public square. The building to the left is Dan Gilbert's Horseshoe Casino and the building to the right is The Marriott Renaissance. They are all connected. Best of all, indoor walkways also connect them to The Q.

B Spot in the Q isn't as good as the stand alone restaurants. Portions are smaller and the burgers aren't always cooked quite as well.

B-Spot isn't worth taking any time on a trip to go to the one in Westlake, for example. The one at the Q may not be as good, but it's worth getting since you are going to be at the Q anyways.

I did AirBnb for my NYC trip. I highly recommend this. I easily saved $200+ doing this. Knowledgable hosts can tell you exactly where to go. So, you don't feel overwhelmed.

Have Jigo arrange your NYC itinerary. He will have it planned to the nano second. :chuckles:

This is also true. While the standalone ones are better, there isn't enough of a difference to make an extra trip.

If you're traveling to Cleveland from the other side of the world, there are dozens and dozens of better places to go than B-Spot. Heck there are better Michael Symon restaurants to go to than B-Spot.

Cleveland food is amazing. B-Spot is good and all, better than a national chain restaurant, but it's like 2 steps above generic. So many more awesome options.

Thanks for all the tips guys!

So as far as Cleveland is concerned, definitely like the location of the Renaissane but think we're going to get with the Hyatt this time around - seems closer to the Q and we like the look of it a little more. Either way, both are close to each other so it's really 6 of one and half a dozen of the other, right?

We're just stuck with LA now. Not sure whether to stay in West Hollywood or Beverly Hills or somewhere else? Anybody got any tips RE: this?

Also waiting for the schedule to release so I know exactly what dates to be in Cleveland. The last thing I want to do is plan a trip and have us not playing during that particular time! Either way, we're going to construct our itinerary to accomodate game day.

Okay, so now that the schedule has been made official, I'm moving my Cleveland stop forward a day:

Cleveland - Arrive Jan 29 - Depart 1 February

Cavaliers and Sacramento on Jan 30

Guessing my best option is to go with that game as the demand for tickets would be considerably less than others. I'm excited! I just want to make sure I have the tickets in my hand before I leave, that way nothing can go wrong - what can I say? I'm a sucker for Murphy's Law!

Glad you got lucky with the schedule that way man. I live closer than you, but still pretty far away from Cleveland. And the season before last scored tickets to see them play the Thunder. And somehow, we won. Seeing a game in The Q was truly one of the best experiences of my life, and that was when we sucked. So I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Even though you live in my favorite travel location I've ever been, I bet you'll still manage to have a good time!

Thank you, man! Me too! I'm incredibly excited. Happy that it's a lower profile game to increase my chances of getting tickets in what will undoubtedly be a difficult season getting tickets.

I remember doing back flips off my couch watching that Thunder game - must've been incredible in the arena. Somehow we always managed to beat them with a rubbish team. How did you go about getting tickets for that game? Just trying to get as much information as possible before I decide exactly where I buy from.

Oh really? Melbourne or Australia? That's awesome. When'd you come here? What did you enjoy most?

While in NE Ohio, I would highly recommend taking a detour to Youngstown and spending a night with Pyro in the basement of his parents house for a sleep over. Not sure you can find that experience outside the US.

I'm pretty sure we just used Ticket Master for the tickets. Pretty simple. I'm sure you won't have any trouble getting them, especially this early. We got ours about two months before and there was lots of seats left. Even with how many more tickets will be sold this year, I still think you'll be fine. Also, if you can afford it (which I'm sure you can, judging by this amazing trip) its so worth it to spend the extra money on good seats. I've never had bad seats at the Q, but I have in Charlotte, and I would definitely recommend getting good seats. The experience is much better.

And about Australia, we went for a little over 2 weeks a few years back. We spent a week in Melbourne, a week in Torquay and just one day in Sydney. Melbourne and Torquay were phenomenal, but I wasn't a huge fan of Sydney besides the Opera House. My favorite thing was seeing such a different culture, and trying all of the food. And it's the most beautiful country (continent?) I've ever seen. Also just little things like learning how to play pick up cricket.

I've traveled a lot, but Australia blows everywhere else out of the water. (except for the flight :chuckles:)

Why waste time in Minnesota or Houston? Have your Minnesota friends meet you in Chicago and your Houston friends meet you in Austin or Dallas.

Minnesota sucks and Houston is a weirdly zoned shit-hole.

I travel 12-15 times a year and Houston is by far my least favorite city to travel to.
