NEOMG

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'll never give Chris Fedor props for anything, that's why I'll mention that I really surprisingly enjoyed this paragraph from an unnamed NEOMG writer after today's game:

Four minutes of futility -- In the last 3:57 neither team made a basket. The 76ers went 0-for-5 from the field and missed four free throws. The Cavs went 0-for-6 and committed a turnover.

"We pride ourselves on the defensive end and tonight was one of those ugly games offensively where a lot of easy shots weren't going for us and a lot of us didn't have our necessary rhythm," Irving said. "But it's the game of basketball and sometimes your flow isn't there but we got stops when we needed, fouled the right people, they missed free throws as well and came out with this win."

I must've watched a different game.

Robert Covington, an 81 percent free throw shooter is not the definition of "fouling the right person." Covington and Jerami Grant missing free throws is not the definition of getting stops. Ish Smith, who finished 0-for-4 from three-point range, missing a pair of uncontested three-pointers in the final minutes, is not good defense. Nerlens Noel missing a point-blank shot on the final possession doesn't qualify as good defense either.

The 76ers missed shots for one reason: they are the worst shooting team in the NBA. They got quality looks late, but aren't good enough to make them.

"I was on the court just noticing, just looking up at the scoreboard like, 'It's been 87-86 for about four minutes,'" Irving said of the final minutes. "And I'm just like, 'Please, just let us get this win.'"

They are, by far.

Well, the PD/NEOMG's coverage is better than it has been the last several years. I know, that's not saying much.

There's really a lot of reporting on the Cavs now. They are really over-reported. In the past, I actually read Sam The Bullshit Whisperer, because there was so little else. I don't even remember the last time I read his stuff.

Lloyd and Windhorst are by far the best. Haynes has had a couple of scoops that no one else had. McMenamin is a good writer so I will read his stuff if he links to it in a tweet.

What is Kyrie going to say? "We sucked but got lucky because our opponent sucked more"

Taking that Kyrie quote at face value and attacking it is a semi-strawman. No one actually believe what Kyrie said. Except, maybe Fedor is that dumb that he believed it. More likely, he's such a hack he has to create a strawman to actually have something report other than who got kicked off the Bachelor.

I wanted to say I was embarrassed for my peers about the "what other coach do we have" kerfuffle. It's testament to what's going on that the very next part of the quote was James savaging them for trying to make it into a story: "To make it a feud btwn me and Blatt, it's just to sell." Amen, Hallejulah. yet somehow that part didn't get reported until later. Just sad.

It's not only Blatt that can seem the smartest guy in the room....

Tonight Vardon trying to start a storyline again. He mentions LeBron not coming out til he got his triple double and that there was a "back and forth" between them Blatt and LeBron about it. Gets Blatt to say that LeBron wanted to stay in, LeBron seems to deny it later when interviewed. Typical high schoolish stuff...starting to wonder if Windhorst is having Vardon ask the questions for him. I don't get the impression that Windhorst is allowed to ask Blatt stuff anymore. I've not seen him in those postgame interview sessions lately, i dont think.

Hey look at me i look like an asshole

the media trying to create a story... that's what they are paid for right?
Quality journalism reports real stories in a great waybut unfortunately we can consider that as distant history

I don't know if he was dissing him, but while Vardon was asking a multiple part question after Boston game 1 Kyrie was talking to someone near the front and had a look on his face like "What the heck is this question?" Kyrie said something but I couldn't read his lips.

That retard Joe Vardon just asked the dumbest question ever

Kyrie put his head down, Lebron just looked at him....Love tried to answer

Vardon is the clown of all clowns

Is there video of all this??

The NBA will post it later, I'm sure. We can find it and post the link here when they do.

To be fair and honest, my guess is that Kyrie was reacting to Vardon asking something like a 3 or 4 part question. Kyrie definitely said something to someone, and my guess is he said something like "what kind of question is this?", meaning why is this guy asking like 6 questions in 1 rather than asking one question like everyone else.

It was hilarious. And the camera caught Kyrie. lol

I love how Vardon was brought in to be the beat reporter following LeBron, yet he absolutely fucked it up by being both incompetent in regards to basketball but also in pissing off basically every one in the cavs lockerroom and earning nothing but disdain from the player he's supposed to be covering. I wonder how long he'll be employed.
