New Star Wars Coming

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not true.. The Star Wars movies were really for all ages, at least the 3 originals. It's an extremely deep story that kids really can't comprehend at first.

The best trick a storyteller can do is make you think you have never heard the story before. Star Wars is a fairy tale that has been told throughout millennia. It's not that deep, it was well executed.

Everyone who sees Star Wars for the first time as an adult thinks it is fun or that Luke is really annoying. It isn't some kind of lifechanging event. It is a precious childhood memory.

Agree to disagree

Yeah, but when I grew up the original trilogy didn't start sucking. I understood things on a new level and enjoyed them for the depth of their story rather than jizzing on a lightsaber.

Canon-wise the prequels don't even line up properly with the OT, and the stories and execution are shit in almost every way. Not to mention they are all just giant toy commercials.

I'm gonna hope for the best but expect the worst on this new trilogy. Anything that acknowledges the prequels existence will turn me off though, so they should focus on continuing from the OT and moving on with new shit completely.

But seriously, saying you dont like star wars is like saying you agreed with bin laden taking down america

it's strange that people are happy Lucas won't direct the future films. While it's true he is responsible for any aspects of the movies that you don't like, don't forget he's responsible for all of the stuff you do like as well. He wrote the 9 stories before the first one was filmed (so long ago already wrote the story for the last 3 movies) and was the director of 4 of the 6 movies.

The addition of Jar Jar Binks was one of the more horrendous things Lucas did. Now it's in better hands.

Jar Jar the retarded (literally) Gungan.. The addition of the Gungans was even stupid in general.

Little bit of info that has been leaked :chuckles:

It's still Lucas's story. Was Jar Jar in the story he originally wrote in the 70s?

I'm pretty sure Lucas said that any future movies should be based on the expanded books. The one I've seen the most is Thrawn. I've never read any of the books, so to those that have, good idea? Problem is, unless these books involve decrepit Luke Skywalker and Geriatric Han Solo, it'll likely need to be recast.

How do you know? Are you talking about the expanded universe stuff (haven't read any of it) or did he talk about what his plans were previously?

There are a lot of quotes from GL over the past 35 yrs, much of them off-the-cuff remarks, some renegging, and a lot of resignation from a guy weary of people biting the hand that feeds.

Despite the title, provides some perspective on the prequel backlash. Available on Netflix!

When he was younger George Lucas said that the story was all about Darth Vader..... The rise (new trilogy) the fall (original Star Wars) and his legacy. So I am assuming that is what will be the next series.

I'm against recasting those 3 main characters, it does make more sense to have them older and "passing the baton" to another generation. Loki is right that the main point of the 2 trilogies is The Rise & Fall Of Anakin Skywalker, and having his legacy as the 3rd trilogy sounds good, but what more could they squeeze out of the Anakin (now Vader) arc? That was my original point, I wasn't sold on the 7/8/9 screenplay summaries. It'll all depend on the plots they come up with. Everything else is formulaic.
