New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Strain actually got better this week.

Finally they killed off a main character! Happy about that. And I am happy they met up with the exterminator. But I was hoping to find out more about the "good" guys that already are turned but helped out the Jamaican woman and those 2 kids

Looks like it is finally going to start picking up. Still so-so acting, but it brings me back every week. So screw it.

Just read that The Strain, though it is a book adaptation, was actually first pitched as a TV series. When that pitch didn't work, it was then converted into a book series, which kind of explains why the books read as if they'd make a decent movie or series.

The acting of the male and female leads is aggravating. But I do like the old guy and the Russian.

Yeah Setrakian is the best character, and played perfectly by Walder Frey. I like the Russian (Fet) too, but he was the best character in the books anyway, so that's no surprise. I also really like that they're giving Eichorst a bigger role since the guy who plays him does a very good menacing German, although to be fair most anyone using a German accent can pull that off.

The wire is supposed to be getting remastered in HD and HBO is going to replay it all in HD.

I don't believe it is the same guy, but he reminds me a lot of the main German in Inglorious Bastards. They both play the German role so well. Menacing, kind of sly but creepy. Pretty much Dave.

He's in Inglourious Basterds, but he's not the main German.

It's basically FX's The Walking Dead. Bad acting. Dumb writing. Fuck it, I'm in.
If this was the Walking Dead threat, I'd carve your heart out for this. But since it isn't, I'm liking the post because it does nail The Strain.

I mean, this shit about the internet and cell phones being shut down is just ridiculous. The economy of the entire country -- and much of the world -- would be in cardiac arrest because of how that would impact trading and the markets. It would be a dominant news story everywhere, which doesn't seem to be the case. On the clips of TV they show, it seems to be dismissed as a minor inconvenience.

And assuming that was even possible, there's no way you could do that and still have TV functioning properly. Shit, even if you can't forward/post videos - which was the logic for that action in the first place -- you'd have people taking their phones to the TV stations so that it could be broadcast that way. Or you'd find some Art Hall wannabe radio station and get Setrakian on it.

It's just a blatantly implausible plot device to explain how the strain could spread without being snuffed out.

We watched Undeclared last week. Pretty good if you have never seen it. Judd Apatow series that only ran for one season but you will see some familiar faces + Charlie Hunnam.

Also this convinced my gf to watch SoA with me which is great because I wanted to watch it all again anyways.

Fantastic show. Freaks and Geeks is also on Netflix and is required viewing for any Apatow fan.

Will have to check that out....after finishing SoA again!

Happy Valley on Netflix is worth a watch. Yeah it's another cop show but it has a much different feel than most. Has a little bit of a Breaking Bad or Fargo vibe to it.

This is an 8 episode series/documentary. If you're interested in music, or the Foo Fighters, this may be an interesting series to watch.
