New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I did, it continues to be a fantastic show that nobody likes [emoji17]

Exactly the way I feel. I actually had no idea that nobody liked it until the end of season 2 and once again after reading the recap of the season 3 premiere. Was completely dumbfounded when I read how much criticism it was receiving. Any ideas why in God's name people don't like such a fantastic show?

I think alot of its criticism is for its ideology, its not exactly subtle in its politics and if you agree with them then you can really identify with some of the characters, but if you dont they probably come across as smart ass knowitalls

Its my wifes favourite show by a long way, I like it but its no west wing. Its a completely unsustainable model for a series though, so complex for 1 guy to write and to be tied to real events just increases the difficulty. It will be a shame when it goes

I think Adam is right about the ideological factor but I also think it's because it lacks explosions, gunfights, Kardashians, an island, a chef who yells at people, or dancing. People want mindless escapism and not a show entirety based on dialogue. Just not enough of us out there who enjoy a show based entirely on writing and character interaction to keep one going. Same reason Studio 60, one of Sorkin's projects that was very good got cancelled before it should have didn't make it.

well fuck me, that was actually an incredible sons episode. a couple things have yet to happen, just have to see exactly how it goes.

Teared up a couple times on that last one.

Jax has gotta die. I want him to die after being dumb enough to get back involved, and this is supposed to be a tragedy.

Jax is going to piece together Gemma really did it before confronting her. She would have been in the same room if she would have been in on the decision/conversation/her fate.

It will fast-forward 20 years later and Abel will not be involved in soa after his mom takes him out of the lifesyle. This will be the only bit of a happy ending

I was thinking that Gemma could be the only one that comes out of this living and she has to live with the fact knowing that she causes everyone's death, but I doubt that happens. It's too deep and complex for sutter.

You need to remember there's two kids, not just one. Fast forwarding 20 years and showing just one kid makes no sense.

No one cares about the other kid.

Or Abel, really, but he's a plot device.

yea but no one cares about that other one

I'm starting Twin Peaks in about an hour...

If you're going to fast forward 20 years, people will care about what happened to the other kid.

You guys got me watching The Newsroom because that's my kind of show, and holy balls is this a good series. I have 2 more episodes in Season 2 and then I'll be watching the first 2 episodes of season 3 to get caught up. Anyone who hasn't given this a chance really needs to, I love it.

He might die soon.

Otherwise it doesn't really matter to either the plot or the audience

Episode 1 of season 3 was only ok by the Newsroom standards, but episode 2 was phenomenal. It frustrates me that this is the shows last season. Jeff Daniels is killing it.

I'd rather staple my balls to my taint than watch Aaron Sorkin's projected self, aka Will McAvoy, rant one more time about The Way Things Should Be. I tried watching that show a few times in season 1 and just couldn't do it.
