New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This happens all the time. There are far more actors that fail to ascend to the next level than go on to be the next George Clooney.

Mischa Barton left the OC to never been seen again. Katherine Heigl left Grey's anatomy to do a couple movies and now is a side character on Suits, which I think most people hope she gets cut from the show.

It's even dumber in today's market for actors. Big name actors seem to do HBO and Netflix shows to have a constant income. The mid tier movies aren't being made anymore. It's either jump on to a superhero movie or hope you can get into a Oscar level movie.

If you're a halfway decent actor you can make Bank as a side character. Patton Oswalt may never be a star in anything, but that motherfucker does like 100 shows a year. Bet he makes bank.

I think stand-up comics have a different mentality to acting. They grinded so long doing stand up that they will take anything acting. I'm amazed who Pete Holmes can get for his show Crashing on HBO from episode to episode. Like he always has random comics just sitting in the cellar and don't actually have any lines.

No Arrow?

Who will care for the Salmon Ladder? Who??!?!?

There are rumors that they are going to have an arrow spinoff. All the future stuff in this season would make sense for a spinoff. Certain characters are still alive in the future scenes so I could see a handful of people moving on to the spinoff.

If you're not already watching it, check out AP Bio. Glenn Howerton is fantastic in it and all the kid characters are actually funny. Season two just started and the first episode was great.

If you like Howerton in Always Sunny I'd consider this a must-watch.

Man, re-watching The Shield season five, Forest Whitaker is amazing. I'm so impressed how he can play a totally clean cop who is hunting down dirty cops and still manage to come off as the bad guy because of his performance. 'Trophy' in season five is my favorite single TV episode ever.

Anyone who hasn't watched The Shield absolutely needs to.

It's on my short list of shows to watch next.

Totally worth it. It's got the best ending of any show I've ever watched.

Season one is a little rough around the edges but I really love how so much of the show hinges around what happens at the end of the pilot.

I'll continue to rank it as my second favorite show after The Wire until another show takes its' spot.

The OA season 2 might be the best show I've watched in the last year and a half. It is shot way better than season 1 and it seems to be more thought out. It reminds me of peak seasons of Lost.

It didn't seem like Netflix promoted it hard which is a shame. I didn't even know it came out till a couple days after. I will be very mad if it doesn't get a season 3.

Girlfriend and I just watched season 1 again and we're gonna start season 2 tonight. Only question I ask, please no spoilers, any connection between 1 and 2? I read somewhere earlier in the year that there is no connection, but now I'm seeing that they are connected.

Definitely connected. I wished I watched season 1 again before watching season 2 because so much time lapse between the two and I didn't remember all the details of season 1.

Halfway through season 1 of Dexter. So far so good. I heard the series ends poorly but the rest is good.

Just stop watching after season four. It turns to total shit after that, but the season four ending is brilliant and a fitting end to the series.

What's going to happen is what we all fell victim to. You love the first four seasons to varying degrees, know the criticism about the rest of the show, but figure "hey it can't be that bad". You deal with the forthcoming terribleness because you want to see the completion of a few big plot threads that all end up feeling very unsatisfying. You want to turn back, but it's the final season... eff it, gotta finish. After the finale you wish you would have stopped after 4 and proceed to hit up message boards and try (but ultimately fail) to convince the next generation to heed your warnings and to learn from your failings.
