New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The first episode of Chernobyl was really good -- difficult to watch at times because it was both so horrific, and so true.

On a side note, I'd just recently done a replay of Stalker: Call of Pripyat, which was made by Ukrainians and set in the real area. And they had the actual buildings, etc., down to a T. Creepy as hell.

My first introduction to Chernobyl was the Call of Duty level where you had to go in and kill some random baddies for some reason. After that, I dove deep into articles / publications and became bit of a human-made disaster junkie.

Apparently the creator for the HBO series did a ton of research so you're going to get a pretty accurate portrayal of what occurred, both visually and factually, which makes it that much scarier.

No joke, man. It was so eerie and dark. I felt so repulsed when they had the emergency meeting and universally agreed to misinform the public and followed with the hand-chant in cult-like fashion.

Also, where would I find in your latter mentioning?

@The Human Q-Tip, have you watched Turn?

Interested in your thoughts on Ian Kahn's turn on Washington.

Actually, I haven't. It's one of those weird things - I wanted to watch it, but I'd seen the lead actor -or at least the guy I thought was the lead from commercials - in some other period piece. And he was so bad that I could get past seeing his hatchet face on Turn.

What do you guys think of Barry? I keep hearing it's a great show....sort of like the early seasons of Dexter

Barry is definately real good. It's not like Dexter though. Barry is truly a comedy. It fits into the HBO comedies real well.

I wouldn’t say it’s a straight up comedy. Has a lot of dark/serious moments in it as well.

I think alot of comedies have dark or serious moments. I was just pointing out that it's a comedy because the comparison to Dexter he had heard. Dexter is dark and is a drama with very little comedy in it.

If he went in expecting Dexter, he might be disappointed.

It's a comedy with some dramatic elements, whereas Dexter was a drama with occasional comedic elements.

Wrapping up season five of Amazon Prime's Bosch. If you aren't watching this show, you should. It's the best cop/detective show on TV right now. Very tightly written and each season has a couple of different plot lines that all feel important and interesting.
