New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Just finished episode one of the new season of House of Cards...

Wow.

Agreed. Quite the episode.

Seriously didn't see that one coming. Can't wait to see what the rest of the season has in store. They've already got it renewed for a third season, too.

Spoilers:

Although, the more I think about it, the more I think they foreshadowed it before he actually killed her. After all, if he really planned on a "fresh start" between the two, why did he have her delete his contact information and all their text messages? I think it's a lot more likely that he planned on killing her all along.

Season 2 is better than season 1 so far imo. I'm four episodes in.

God, between this and getting Tomb Raider I'm going to have a fun weekend trying not to ignore my GF.

That's what I'm hearing. Sadly, I've only had enough time to watch the first episode today. Hopefully will have time for more this weekend.

Although I liked the first season, I really hope there's more in the way of character development in the second season. I understand that this series is supposed to be all about corrupt, power-hungry politicians in DC, but the characters didn't seem completely real to me last season. It's almost like they overplayed the whole dog eat dog, survival of the fittest, do whatever you need to do thing. Some of the characters are just so downright nasty that they're not completely believable.

They killed off the one completely believable character they had in Russo last season. He had his faults, but he was also well-meaning and wanted to come clean and do the right thing when he died.

thank you for keeping HoC in spoilers

discussion on social media right after traditional episodes air is super standard and i hate when people bitch about that. this is obv an exception tho, with all the episodes being released at once and some binge watching almost the entire thing in just a day. makes me terrified to even step foot on a place like twitter until i'm done with the season.

That's about the standard for me too. I generally stay away from social media right after something comes out if I haven't seen it yet. People on Facebook have been pretty good about not posting spoilers, though.

I find myself not giving a fuck about any of the actual procedural and day to day struggles in the fictional House of Cards government.

Finally caught up with the last 2 episodes of True Detective. I know where is a thread dedicated to it, but I feel like those who haven't seen it are missing out.

You watch it with your heart firmly in your throat. It leaves you thinking and that's what makes the entire show that much greater than any other show I've ever seen.

If there is a way for any of you who are not privy to this, to get access to a friends HBOGO account, I strongly suggest it. Also, you can catch up on Game of Thrones too.

Finished House of Cards this morning. Amazing season, but just sucks that we have to wait another year before season 3 comes out. The final episode was awesome.

Netflix just added Rectify to instant. It was one of the best shows in 2013. 6 EPs in the first season. Basic plot is that a dude was put on death row @ age 18 for a crime he (maybe) didn't commit. He struggles with integrating into a world he knows nothing about. Both his sister and his step brother&wife are great supporting players.

"Believe" - first episode, disappointing. Most likely will not watch again.
"Resurrection" - first episode, less disappointing. May hang in for one more episode to see if it can really pull me in.

It's sad when shows like "Breaking Bad", "Game of Thrones", and "True Detective" are just that great. This makes it so hard for any show to really capture the attention in which those shows possessed from episode 1.
