North Korea says Nuke Tests Target the US

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Report came out today (on yahoo) that North Koreans are in a "silent famine" and citizens are reportedly eating their children. Again.

People laugh and shake their heads about this, but killing children or digging up corpses and eating them.... THAT is how the zombie apocalypse is gonna start. And once the zombie infection reaches China, and then India.... I say we (USA) should be building MORE nukes. A pre-emptive nuclear sandwich would also feed their hunger, reduce their population, and allow the good citizens of N. Korea an excuse to calmly leave the country. That's my 1 minute solution anyway.

Pretty sure we've got more than enough nukes sitting in storage unused.

I'm not sure North Korea has ever not in a famine.

That entire country is ass backwards. The fact that the populous is so brain washed there is quite sad. In many ways, North Korea is forever stuck in the 1950's.

I have literally 0 concerns as far as Korea goes. Big Brother usually keeps them in line. China would never support Korea if they decided to nuke someone, and Korea would never enter a war without China.

It's too bad North Korea has to exist. South Korea is a thriving Asiatic country, much in the same vein as Japan albeit much more well respected in the world because of their military. Hopefully one day, we can see a unified North and South and a thriving country rather than the soul crushing tyranny in the North.

fuck NK and its regime,it is evil.

I would like to point out, yet again, that this isn't really me, it is the poster formerly known as "Disctracted."

I sincerely doubt they would ever seriously consider attacking us. The whole idea here, from NK's point of view, is to demand the world's respect by becoming a proven nuclear power. This, obviously, gives them more say in international agreements/relations, etc. The interesting thing, as others have noted, is that China appears to be getting annoyed by their crazy little brother... They even voted for the recent U.N. sanctions that prompted this whole aggressive response by the N.Koreans.

Another interesting layer to this whole situation is N.K.'s close proximity to China and Russia. I strongly believe that, even if N.K. were to somehow nuke the U.S. west coast, we wouldn't even be able to nuke them back... not only could this lead to nuclear fallout/radiation drifting into China and/or Russia, we'd also likely have to send a nuclear missile either through Chinese and/or Russian airspace, or damn close to it. Something tells me Russia and China wouldn't be too pleased with that. What I do think would happen, though, is that we'd light up Pyongyang like a fucking Christmas tree without the use of Nukes.

wuck edit: no need for the personal stuff.

Well, yeah, I don't think the US would nuke back, one out of fear for South Korea, two out of fear for Russia and China, and three out of fear of their own PR massacre that would happen.

But yes, it would be a systematic destruction of all things North Korean, probably even aided by the Chinese and Russians. It'd make the Iraq Invasion look like child's play.

Why can't I be? Iran doesn't even have the technology yet, let alone actual missiles.

Money can buy technology, they have plenty of that.

I assumed NK might be more difficult to defend against, just because the countries that surround it are so powerful that if any of them are assisting them it might be harder to identify their movements. But then I realized that was a baseless speculation.

So I thought all other things being equal population might increase a country's chance at pulling off an attack. More intelligence to sift through, more difficult to watch.

But then there's things like borders and our access to these part of the world and our current positions overseas and it'd be a project to determine which would more easily attack us (if either at all). Somebody with a lot of classified knowledge would know the answer, but I don't know if that's any of us.

Anyway, Iran has 3 times more people and many times more money. Sounds more complex to follow. But who knows. Too many factors to consider with too little info. Even luck is probably involved, it can depend on who's working that day. For example we had the intelligence saying that Bin Laden was determined to strike in the US a month before 9/11 (and hijacking planes was a mentioned method (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:CIA_Memo.JPG)), but lucky for them our president ignored this and stayed on vacation at his ranch. According to the official version of the story, anyway. Who knows what really went down. Thermite discoveries and demolition expert opinions and yada yada yada.

Our biggest threat is probably a country we think is our friend. But I'm not ready to invade Canada just yet.

There is, however, no reason we should be forced to spend money and blood over there when there is no threat to us.
NK is not a threat to US interests? That's rich. What exactly is your foreign policy besides, "Do nothing and let the enemy marshall its troops." If there was ever a case for action it is the rogue state of nuclear North Korea.

:chuckles:
Welcome to my ignore list.

While I enjoy watching alex jones' drones rep each other all night, this thread was more than I bargained for. Don't make me the Dougheil for this thread.

Because I'm highly invested in who you (stranger on the internet) ignore, right?

Oh wait, that's not right. Also, you didn't execute the idea of the ignore button very well at all. Instead you left us with your one way inside joke to yourself (and probably some regulars here) that you theoretically won't be able to see my response to, and which is therefore probably just pandering for reps yourself, deduced from the opinion that you seem to be so conscious of them in the first place. So I'll be sure to rep you at some point, don't worry. Just have to read a good post first.

To which U.S. "interests" is North Korea a threat? They can't even grow enough food for themselves. Are they going to row canoes over to Hawaii and invade? If they ever get a missile that would reach our "interests", do you think China sitting right there would allow them to launch the first shot in the war that renders all of their dollar holdings worthless?
