Offensive Staff Thread (David Lee hired as QB Coach)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I really don't think there's a more delusional fan base than Michigan fans. I'm seeing a good amount that believe this a Kevin Wilson to OSU caliber hire and that it will make Wilton Speight a Heisman contender next year.
Lmaoooooooooo

I would have to say there is a little more job stability at Michigan than here. Can't blame him.

Isn't there a stipulation for coaching the senior bowl about most of the staff having to be intact? A new defensive coordinator and staff plus a new offensive assistant seems like it may be pushing that limit.

How did we lose our passing game coordinator to a college team, and somehow come out ahead?

Man, Greg Roman would be a coup for this team.

So, Savage & Co. spoke to Browns and made sure any staff changes wouldn't be a disruption to the Senior Bowl before selecting them..

While staff changes have been wholesale, getting the staff in place before Senior Bowl should make it alright...

Great to hear. Does anyone know offhand if players coached by the coaching staff are more likely to be picked by that team and/or more likely to succeed in the NFL? I know the commonly known case scenario if Ansah and the Lions coaches.

Specially if Watson comes in, getting to see these guys first hand is an incredible opportunity for the staff.

Who leaves a position as OC/AHC in the NFL to become a quarterback coach in college? If you're old or something, sure. But Hamilton is in his early 40's.

For what it's worth (which isn't much) Wikipedia claims his current position is QB coach for UM.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pep_Hamilton

I think it's a formality he'll be the OC at UM after next season. Drevno interviewed for a few HC jobs this past year and has aspirations of being a lead man. My guess is he lands somewhere Following the 2017-18 season.

Given the prospects on offense for the Browns, it doesn't surprise me at all Pep moved on. Would you want to hang around after a 1-15 season if a high paying assistant gig came up with an easy path to an OC job? Seems like self preservation.

I don't have much problem at all with Pep leaving. Seems like a good move for him if his end goal is to become a college HC.

My only issue with the whole thing is that frankly I wish Hue would just shut the fuck up sometimes. He decided to run his mouth on that conference call and say he was confident Pep would stay and now he looks like a buffoon.

Ultimately this is much ado about nothing, but Hue has a bad habit of talking out his ass about things when he doesn't need to. ("the ground moved under my feet" about RG3. "You've got to trust me" about Kessler).

That type of stuff is basically troll food for the likes of Grossi, Pat Mac and the rest of the Cleveland media goof troop.
