Offensive Staff Thread (David Lee hired as QB Coach)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Don't they already have an OC? I thought Harbaugh already said he wasn't making changes to his staff no? Wasn't there friction with Roman in Buffalo about people going around each others back? Wouldn't that make Roman like an OC in waiting? Imagine if that happened here.

Kind of taking a lesser position with Ravens versus going to us right? If rumors were true we offered him a job.

I don't remember seeing anywhere that said we offered him a job.

And no, it's not a lesser position. Here, Hue is still calling plays regardless, so he wouldn't have more power than he'll have with the Ravens. And we already have a run-game coordinator in Kirby Wilson.

Ah, I read too much into that Ian Rapoport tweet on page 1 then. Thanks.

Bob Wylie is an older guy, 65 years old.

TONS of experience at all levels of football. 10 years as a college OL coach, 6 years as a CFL OL coach and 12 years as an NFL OL coach.

Tanking is awesome until nobody wants to work for you.

You have a chance to check out his resume and results over the past 25 years?

He is a veteran coach who has been around for a very long time, but also hasn't coached particularly good lines in over 20 years. Let's wait and see on his impact.

Actually, in 2011 with Hue, Oakland was T4 for fewest sacks allowed, 2nd in fewest sack yds allowed, and T7 in yds per carry.

That 2011 Oakland team was building something, we have no idea what it would have looked like because the plan ended abruptly. One has to wonder why Wylie hasn't seen much success in 20 years, from what I could tell his only playoff caliber team was the 1991 Jets, and he has been in and out of the NFL along the way. Generally teams start their playoff push a year or two after he is gone. It's a bit of a pattern.

I'm more interested in what this means for Hal Hunter. Is he being promoted from O Line to a higher position? Is he gone? I feel like Wylie is just one domino.
