Official Brady Quinn Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not going to do much enjoying while watching Quinn.

Then instead spend the entire game trying to suck yourself off while remembering this quote,

"There is no try, there is only do."

I already know Anderson is not that good of a QB, does it make you feel better about Quinn when you say he sucks or something? Neither are very good. Shouldn't Quinn have beaten out this terrible QB a lot early in the off-season if hes suppose to be good..?

Gotta agree with jigo here... I don't think Mangini had any intention of revealing a favorite the entire preseason... your argument isn't "valid"...

Seriously, do you get off on being obnoxious? You admitted that DA isn't that good of a QB. Okay, that point has been made. If DA isn't that good of a QB, shouldn't we start the one who we haven't seen much of yet? Or would you rather we keep playing a shitty QB while we keep an unknown on the bench?

It makes absolutely NO sense. I'm by no means a Quinn lover, but DA has proven that he will never be more than a decent backup in this league. Obviously we should give the reps to a kid who has only played in 2.5 freaking football games. If Quinn sucks it up, fine, but at least we will then know that we need to address the position in the next (very QB heavy) draft.

It obviously makes much more sense to just assume that Quinn is no good without actually seeing him play enough to make a valid observation of his talents.

You seriously make absolutely no sense. I would understand your argument (maybe) if you said you liked DA and thought he could be a legitimate starter for this team. But the fact that you said you know he isn't a good QB and you still want to start him over an unknown just astounds me.

Pete Carroll was upset he lost his starting QB, I'm sure if last season was his senior year Carroll would say how he should be the #1 pick.

This was the first time that Carroll EVER got upset over a player leaving. Other underclassmen had left in the past, and Carroll had no problem with it. Carroll didn't think sanchez was ready.

Look, I don't want Quinn to fail, I'm just not entirely impressed with the guy.. Never cared for his ability in college as well..

Sanchez on the other hand is someone I believe has the potential and skill to be an elite level QB.. Kinda on the Brees level...

I'm still trying to figure out what Brady is.. coughRobJohnsoncough

Sorry have to disagree with you here. The prepensity for a QB to do well after completing 60% of their passes and starting 35+ games is high. Those that start fewer tend to bust out of the league quicker.

I don't understand the infatuation with Sanchez. I think he isn't going to be that good of a QB. Quinn I believe has the potential to be a good QB.

While QBs like Russel, Stafford, Sanchez IMO will be busts.

Quick, name me the QBs who have played 16 college games, went on to start from the beginning of their NFL career and have been successful long-term?

Carroll was upset because he was watching his 2009 National Championship hopes disappear before his eyes.

With Sanchez this season, the Trojans would have been damn near a lock to roll through the regular season untouched and into another National Championship game.

Without him, they're stuck in what might even become somewhat of a rebuilding year behind a freshman QB in Barkley.

It had more to do with PC's agenda than it did Sanchez not being ready IMO.

i love people who assume Quinn will suck, when we've only seen him start 3 NFL games in his career, and should be 2-1 in those starts if not for that debacle by our defense in Denver last year.

Quinn has done nothing to make anyone here think he'll be a bust in an NFL game, so I don't get all this Quinn hate from some people.

Bernie has returned!

wait, where the fuck is bernie's hand?!?

Should have went for Cutler or Sanchez...It will bite us on the ass eventually..At which point I will link us back many times to when I said we should trade for Cutler or draft Sanchez, and then proceed to ridicule the idiots that disputed that notion during that time..

I saw Sanchez do a fake shoulder pump the other day, and I just started to cry...:bigcry: The poise, the accuracy, the leadership...

Yet, we're stuck with noodle cannon...
:neener:

For his, what, 4th game starting against the first real defense he's faced, it's what I expected.

I also expect a lot of improvement from week 1 to week 2.

Problem with Quinn is the same problem that he's always had, and that's that he can't spread the field. He really couldn't do it in college, and he almost certainly won't be able to do it in the NFL. Smart kid, but intelligence will only take you so far when NFL defenses know exactly what they won't have to worry about.

It would seem he's a better option than DA because of DA's mental errors, but Quinn's shortcomings aren't going away, and it inhibits the offense to a pretty large degree, IMO. He's almost strictly a game manager in a time when you need to produce some offense to win in this league. But man, at least DA gives you the potential to make defenses worry.

One game against one the best defenses in the NFL is not an accurate sampling of Quinn's abilities ...

in no way, shape or form would Anderson have performed better....

people say "we know what anderson can do", yeah thats true, except we know what he could do with a pro bowl caliber TE....

Winslow was by far our best receiving target and Anderson still underperformed with him...

Anderson lost the job for a reason....

with that being said, no QB can have success in Cleveland if we don't have a run game or a consistent receiving threat

it's simple, we have a very weak right side of the line, we have an average at best run game, and we don't have a WR who can't get open on every level
