But I do feel sorry for you, sitting there behind your computer, acting like a tough guy who gets enjoyment out of ruining other people's cultural experiences and enjoyments, people who are complete strangers to you, and who hasn't done a thing to justify your behavior. I'm sure there are a lot of folks in your situation, but I'd be really interested to hear your opinion as you read given that you already know a lot of the spoilers. I can remember reading the first book in bed, putting down the book in kind of a stunned silence, and saying to my wife "Holy shit, they just threw a seven year old out of a window." She had no idea what I was talking about, but I remember how the shock of those kind of surprises helped shape my opinion of the books.

Maybe he means we'd be getting the future books spoiled for us. But if they're not out yet, who cares? I mean, I know some book readers will bitch about that scenario, but I'm not going to avoid the internet for the however many years it takes Martin to finish the books. I'm fine with watching the show even if it passes the books. Given that D&D will then only have a guideline to follow rather than an actual blueprint, the show will end up being significantly different from the books anyway, even moreso than it is already.
