more san diego music.. this girl is 17.. shes good and all, but I dont think shes fantastic watching her on video.. shes got a ridiculous buzz, which seems absurd. Capitol records is apparently talking to her. Shes over at Lestats.. the dude next to her hosts the open mic I go to on thursdays.

I like this, lyrically, and melody wise. Not really to fond of the vocals.
I guess the girl was on some sort of medication. Damn!

its glen hansard's writing mixed with all those screamo bands vocalists

This is the same band. They did the Blur/Gorillaz thing just after Blur went Gorillaz.

This is my calming center, before I explode.

Very much Queen inspired, with a bit of fanfare of My Chemical Romance's "Black Parade".
I need to look into Nate's former band "The Format", as I haven't, yet. But again, I like to listen to bands first albums, as there is so much potential with when they first come together and create. Not that Fun. isn't good, with their latest album.

I'd have to buy the entire album, in order to get this song. I'm not doing that!

Soo much strokes to talk about.. Had no idea they even had a new CD out.. Angles was only a couple years ago. I've only listened through like once... Casablancas just really knows how to write for melody, effortlessly. And never rewrites anything, all new. The song below is fucking viscious... it takes like 2 listens, but the chorus is mind shatteringly good. Chills.. I get chills from music a couple times a year, dont think anything has beaten this song, ever. Anyways, the strokes have officially gone completely 80s rather than 70s (where they started off). New cd also has some arctic monkeys sounding stuff on it.. Song below is a blatant rip off of 'take on me' which is a fantastic song which deserves a better chorus than what was written for it... that synth solo is epic. Strokes songs have taken longer to hit climax.. verses are long and takes awhile for choruses to hit, but its all solid music.

Really digging two indie-rock bands at the moment. One is the Canadian powerhouse that is The Sheepdogs whose debut album was produced by Patrick Carney of The Black Keys. On the track "Feeling Good" which is simply outstanding, the Keys influence is quite obvious especially on the percussion.

The other is a songwriter who goes by Langhorne Slim. I saw him kick some ass on Conan and checked out his album afterwards, which is a really impressive piece of work.

The Best 100 Debut Albums, of All Time.... according to RollingStone.

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/the-100-greatest-debut-albums-of-all-time-20130322

At least this narrows down some music that I should be listening to. I'm sure there are some questionable rankings.

I haven't read through the list yet, but I definitely will... but, first impressions are everything and Lady Gaga was the first one I saw. #100. Sorry, but that's just awful. I was planning on going through the entire list and commenting afterwards, but I'm thoroughly disappointed with Rolling Stone for kicking this thing off with this bitch. Just can't stand her. Letter to the editor: this is an all timer list. There should be zero Gaga mention unless in reference to what not to be. Awful
