On top of Steven Adams

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Of Steven Adams

He looked lost in summer league.

He looked lost 90% of the time during his year at Pitt, so essentially nothing new here.

I'm not too fond of the guy. He's got the physical tools, but I'm not sure he'll ever "get it". OKC's coaching staff has a lot of work to do.

If I remember correctly this was originally in Cavs Talk... I think he made the title so it would read "Cavs Talk Of Steven Adams"

That's my guess

Steven Adams dropped 17,10, and 3 on the loaded Pistons front court. Big difference having the 7' NewZealander in the paint when ibaka goes for his blocks. The interior defense is there after ibaka now.

Yesterday he got 1 pt, 2 rbs, and 2 blocks in 20 minutes against the wiz.

He was always going to be a great fit for the thunder, really simple role, no scoring load unless its a lay up. Big and athletic so can keep up on the break. Its the perfect spot for him to start his career.

Kid looks like a great find. Fits that system well. He played poorly stat wise yesterday, but was still first off the bench in both halves.

I scooped him up for my fantasy team, and I may hang on for awhile. I smell a changing of the guard with Perk sooner than later.

This was the guy I really wanted. I was sorry that we didn't get him. I wanted Drummond too, but I think Adams has more upside in the brain department. He will develop a jumpshot and post game which I am not confident that Drummond can do. Great get by OKC. Hopefully we will have an opportunity like that with some of the picks we snagged.

A little bird told me that the Cavaliers wish list if they moved up into the lottery was (no idea on order) KCP, Adams, and Karasev. They ended up with one of them after failing to move up, so I can't be too disappointed. Adams was just so ineffective in college games, it would have been hard to justify the #1 overall pick. He was drafted exactly where he should have been. I still have high hopes for what Karasev will become by the start of his second year... I just think Adams had a more NBA ready body.

Adams is the sole reason I didn't want the Cavaliers to win the Lottery. I was hoping for something in the 6-10 range prior to the Lottery, or even trading out of the #1 spot, but we "lucked" out and got the #1 pick. I'm on record as being the driver of the Steven Adams bandwagon as far back as the summer before his last prep year. I think he has the potential to be an absolute stud at the center position. My dream draft was getting both Adams and Karasev in the 1st round. Imagine the sheer size and transition we'd have with Bynum and Adams manning the 5 spot for the next decade, or so. Damn.

Adams should get more run the next couple games with Perkins out for personal reasons.

Hmmm perkins out for personal reasons....bynum out for personal reasons. Civil partnership? :king:

Dammit. Once I knew Len and Noel were damaged goods, I was willing to throw the #1 pick at Adams. I just wanted my long term center.

Still want my long term center.

The 2014 Draft should have a few guys that could be really good, too. Joel Embiid will be a top 10 pick (most likely), and Willie Cauley-Stein should be a lottery pick. However, keep an eye on AJ Hammons (my favorite after Embiid), Eric Mika, Alec Brown, Jordan Bachynski, etc. Those guys should all be available after the Lottery. Hammons is big, strong and has some good skills. He'd be a great prospect to learn behind Bynum for another year.
