OSU/Purdue emergency thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We are a typical Big 12 football team right now. No running game, no defense. Just chucking up passes because we can't do anything else.

Part of the problem is that Haskins cant run.
Martell needs snaps.

This is crazy. You don't need a running QB to win a National Championship. Alabama has won a million of them and only one was with a QB that could run.

However, with this OSU team and this coaching staff, I do agree Martell needs snaps in short yardage situations. Because I don't think there is another option to achieve success. Said it last week and I still believe it. It shouldn't have to be that way, but it is, and it's on coaching.

Where in my post did I say that you did?
Saban also didnt coach a spread up temo offense, but I havent watched them this year.
Who is our powerback?

Plot twist, Martell isn’t that good right now either.

It’s not a well coached team. A paper tiger that has dramatically underachieved.

Troy Smith better
We'll see how Haskins' career plays out, but this could be a really good debate.

One things for sure: The 2005 & 2006 OSU teams were both WAY fucking better than what we've been trotting out there this year (and last). I mean...when you really drill it down, going through each position group...it's actually kind of shocking just how much better those teams were than the OSU teams the last couple years. It's not even close.

Not winning a National Championship with those 2005 or 2006 teams was definitely a bit of a bummer. Those teams were fucking good.

I mean, all he has to do is make a read in that situation. If he can't do that yet, then fine...just let Haskins air it out and see what happens I guess.

Just don't call a motherfucking fade route everytime.

So, no one on the entire team can break a tackle? Like, no one? We made Purdue look like the most sound, fundamental tackling team in history.

No one with any creativity. No one running hard to get through a tackle.

And finally, LOL at putting anything on Haskins. As if there aren't countless examples of teams figuring out how to run the ball w/o a running QB. Line is abysmal and our running backs aren't running very hard.

Trying to figure out wtf Purdue did right. I uh....legit had this down as the reverse score. I was sort of groaning, worried I'd see a slaughter on national television tonight.

Welp.

I'm dumbfounded.

Their secondary looked like complete trash the first 3 games, but they played like their ass was on fire tonight.

Also uh....Rondale Moore is a freak. I have no idea how the fuck Purdue landed him. That last run is among the best plays I've seen in Purdue history. Up there with the Brees-Morales play against OSU and Orton-Stubblefield against Notre Dame in 04,.

And yes. As a Purdue fan that means a lot because OSU is KNOWN for producing secondary players out the ass in the pros.

@Lee Congrats, dude. Your team kicked the SHIT out of us.

Thanks

I got kind of a man crush on Rondale Moore and now you guys get to see why. He might be the most dynamic player Purdue has ever had. Either him or Rod Woodson. He is a true Freshman and such an allusive talent. He came in from game one and knocked it out the park for us.

Considering how those teams got pummeled in those championship games, they weren’t THAT good...

Well this is definitely our worst secondary in at least a decade. At least.

I've seen a great QB (Brees) a good QB (Orton) and some great de/olb prospects (Avril, Phillips,)

He's something else man. I've never seen a guy play like he has in a Purdue uniform.

I'd have to ask my dad...And that's not an insult towards the players I've seen, but that broken tackle was unreal to me.

And Woodson well...I sense some similarities, but that IU game in 86 is something my dad will tell me as the best game he's ever seen an individual player

That is what I mean, Rondale is that type of special. Next year he will be in the Heisman conversation possibly.
