OSU Recruiting Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Former five-star linebacker Mike Mitchell from Texas is transferring back closer to home, reportedly to be near his ailing father. Also some rumblings of his dissatisfaction with being in Columbus.

Tough break for OSU, he figured to make an impact on an already thin linebacker core, but this has supposedly been in the works for a month or so.

This will most likely also affect the status of his brother, a five-star power forward prospect committed to play for Thad Matta.

Needless to say, not a good day for Buckeye sports.

On a more positive note, Malik McDowell's father told Josh Helmholdt of Rivals that the family plans on taking unofficial visits and deciding some time before April 1st. Ohio State and Florida State were both mentioned as unofficial visit destinations. MSU and Michigan are in the mix as well.

OSU picked up it's third commitment for 2015 with Ben Edwards, a head-hunting safety prospect from Jacksonville, FL.

Highlights

Bad things happen when he makes contact with the opposition. He will cause a concussion or two in his career, to say the least. Mofo has bad intentions out there, real nice get.

2015 five star running back Damien Harris is on an unofficial visit right now. Watching the game tonight. Former Michigan verbal.

Class of 2015 notes

Seems like the Bucks are looking good for 2015 LB Jerome Baker, while Givler is taking the field over the Bucks for ATH Justin Hilliard as of now. Probably the #1 and #2 players in Ohio next year, would be a great to land both of them before their senior years start. Baker's parents were on campus this weekend, with both saying positive things about the Buckeyes now instead of just dad. Having both of them already in his corner shouldn't hurt the chances for Meyer.

Four star tight-end Hale Hentges visted this weekend and came away impressed. He's the #4 TE in the nation per Rivals, and we're the presumed favorite as of now. He's making his decision in the upcoming weeks, would be great for the Bucks to keep pilfering the state of Missouri for elite skill position players.

A group from Detroit's Cass Tech visited this weekend, with Damon Webb and 2015 RB target Mike Weber the big names. It's going to be a close with in his recruitment, with things picking up in the interest from Michigan with Damien Harris's decommitment.

And Rivals100 OT Andrew Clark also made a trip to Columbus, we've actually moved up his lists and could ultimately be a factor when he's deciding.

Damon Webb signed his Letter of Intent this year... Isn't he enrolled?

Damon Webb signed his Letter of Intent this year... Isn't he enrolled?

He'll be enrolling in August for fall camp, he wasn't one of the 7 early enrollees for spring ball.

Another nugget about another early enrollee though, Curtis Samuel is looking really good running with the 1s and 2s with Rod Smith missing some practice time. He's most likely going to split time with Donte in the pivot and spell Ezekiel at times.

Marcus Baugh, the sophomore four star tight end out of Cali, has really stepped up for the injured Jeff Heuerman.

Interior lineman Chad Lindsay, 5th year transfer from Alabama (started four games in 13) will sign with Ohio State, per CBS' Jeremy Fowler.

He'll most likely step into a starting spot on the interior, possibly at center.

Big news for a team trying to find stability on the offensive line.
