OSU Recruiting Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Interior lineman Chad Lindsay, 5th year transfer from Alabama (started four games in 13) will sign with Ohio State, per CBS' Jeremy Fowler.

He'll most likely step into a starting spot on the interior, possibly at center.

Big news for a team trying to find stability on the offensive line.

FUCK yeah this is fantastic news

Is Eric Glover-Williams' scholly going to get pulled after the fight at school?

Is there really an opportunity to get Ricky DeBerry?

Very, very possible EGW doesn't end up in the class.

Was already on thin ice, I'd imagine there will be some criteria he needs to meet and hurdles he needs to clear before he makes it up to OSU.

I think they've got a shot with DeBerry, but it's going to be a fight to the finish.

There was a prevailing thought that all three of OSU's early commits (Dean, Glover-Williams, and Edwards) would not end up in Columbus when all was said and done.

It sucks that we've joined the oversigning crowd. Hopefully, this is a one time occurrence due to a summer transfer and the scholly reductions.

Natural attrition normally occurs after spring practice. Only one person needs to leave the program for OSU to be at the scholarship limit.

Some notes:

Jamal Marcus is no longer with the team, there are apparently some legal/grade issues and there was a mutual split.

Joey Burrow, a QB from Athens, OH committed today. The Buckeyes first commitment in quite a while.

I had higher hopes for Marcus.

Don't know much about the quarterback commit. Ship sailed on Gibson with his recent issues?

They'll chase him until signing day, probably have a pretty good shot especially if he follows through on a summer visit.

They're also still chasing Travis Waller from California, who would be an offer and commit at any time. I think what happens with him will dictate how the staff views Gibson.

This OSU recruiting "season" seems to be moving like shit stuck in a toilet bowl...

The crop of prospects in state has been much slower to commit than in years past. Thankfully, they're in a good position for a few of them (Jerome Baker, Justin Hilliard, Elijah Taylor, Dre'Mont Jones, etc). They've adjusted their strategy for 2016 by offering in-state kids much earlier than in the past.

OSU picked up a commitment from 3-star safety Tyler Green (DeMatha Catholic HS inD) today after impressing the staff at their camp this afternoon.

South Dakota OT Grant Schmidt is still in Columbus and is meeting with the staff tomorrow. Rumor is he could follow suit with a commitment shortly thereafter.

DeMario McCall is a 2016 kid who ran a 4.3 and blew everyone away during the sprints. He's from North Ridgeville and could commit at any time.

Green looks the part. Even for a 3 star. I like how he's ready to hit the recruiting trail for OSU as well; seems like a leader.

He won't be a 3 star for long. Got invited to The Opening at the Nike facility this July. Kid is a good prospect.

I think once Justin Hilliard commits (not a foregone conclusion, but looking real good), the floodgates in recruiting are going to open up.
