The Heat have all the same issues they had the last two seasons but don't have the talent to overcome their shortcomings. They are terrible on both sides of the ball. Their fans insist they are okay offensively, but they appear to be a jumbled mess every single time I watch them.
Bosh puts up good numbers but it's like neither he, nor Spo, have any clue what his defined role should be. They start him at the five and still have him camp out behind the line. That would be fine if they still had LeBron to go with Wade, but Wade isn't the same player. His shooting percentages are still higher than they were earlier in his career, but that could be due to the fact he is being a bit more selective.
In fact, his shooting percentage from two point range is the lowest it's been in three years and he has looked absolutely terrible shooting these last two games. He doesn't attempt to drive nearly as much as he used to, instead settling for mid-range jumpers, which he still hits with somewhat effectiveness but can't find as many open shots.
I thought Wade actually looked good from long range before he missed those seven games. Since he's returned, however, he's stopped shooting from deep. (0-for-3 from three-point range over his last seven games). He can't drive or finish like he used to, is a few steps slower and hasn't really added range to his shot.
On the defensive end, he still can compile stats but as a one-on-one defender, he's not anything close to what he once was. No lateral quickness to keep up with any legit two guard in the league at all.
He's not a bad player. In fact, he could be an effective third or fourth option on a contender if he could continue to find extra range on his shot, but as a first or second option, he's done.
