Playoff Positioning

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The East is falling apart... and there wasn't much too begin with.

I don't think the Wizards during their losing streak have hit rock bottom yet....

Wizards are playing the 76ers next so they haven't rock bottom yet

We are 3.5 point favorites for arguably the biggest regular season game of the year tonight, i.e. we would be considered favorites on a neutral court. Interesting.

Not sure about SOS but even if ATL goes .500 and we go .800 we'd still be two games back. If ATL goes .500 we'd have to win .900, or go 21-3, to match their record. Probably not likely.

If Indiana looks like they are the 7 seed I'd give LeBron, Love, and Irving 2 weeks off and try and tank to number 3 or even 4.

Original post updated. Cavs currently tied with Chicago, but have both the third seed and the Central Division lead by virtue of head-to-head record.

HUGE back-to-back tonight and tomorrow against two teams the Cavs may very well end up seeing in the playoffs, Golden State and Indiana. Both teams have beaten Cleveland this year, although Golden State beat them when they were slumping without LeBron James at home, where they are 24-2.

Cavs should have revenge on their minds. No reason they can't take both of these games.

The seed coming out of the regular season doesn't in the end seem that important to me -- we're not going to be #1, how much difference is there between 2 and 3? Both give HCA in the second round, the only question is whether the 7 or the 6 seed is really dangerous.

The 3 seed only has HCA in the 1st round.

^This.
And call me crazy, but HCA could be huge in a potential series against Toronto.

Not sure if serious......

Why? Call me a homer, arrogant bastard BUT what difference does it matter who they play? They'll have to beat the best teams in the conference to reach the finals. Whether it be on the road or at home, I truly believe/think/etc. that this team can more than handle any team including the Hawks. I guess I don't really care how the seeding falls....just go play defense, make shots, and the finals will be there. Sorry if this post didn't enhance this thread.

How does the 3 seed give us homecourt advantage in the second round if we play the 2nd seed? Getting the 2nd seed does matter.

Indiana in a series doesn't concern me because (1) circus shots don't happen every game, especially three games in a row, and (2) Paul George returning from a serious leg injury without a season's worth of basketball conditioning vs. a LeBron with momentum isn't in Indiana's favor.
